Hey all this is my new (old) talos pain engine, brand new in the pack arrived this morning

Do you have a Macro function on your camera/phone? That should eliminate the bluriness on the photos.

The old model looks more agressive and powerful to me than the new one.. New Talos reminds me of Zerg Overlords mixed with hellraiser...

Thanks all, @Eviledwin, that was using the macro setting on the phone, its not the best camera but unfortunately its all i could get my hands on

Does anyone think i should change the colour of the weapons as my entire army has purple weapons and blue trim same as armour. Or does everyone think it looks good how it is?

Your Talos looks great to me, nice to see someone with an old style one. (I'm lamenting having sold mine a couple of years back.) Maybe a purple/red glaze over the gold but that depends on whether that would make it look out of sync with the rest of your army.

Just checked out your army thread and don't panic about your standard, they look great. Experience comes from trying things out and painting lots and you have a very good starting point.

I did mean to put wash, not glaze, when I typed earlier. I could show you the difference if you want by doing two rifles in your scheme and washing the gold part with a purple wash. I did note however you are liking the 'Tron' look so purple might not be a good pick if you want to keep close to that theme. Closer would have been silver with a blue wash but I kind of like the gold myself.

All in all though, very good work!

Yeh i decided that rather than the tron thing i would stick with pruple as im digging it. It would be really helpful if you could do that for me as well.

Okay, apologises for the photo quality and rushed a bit paint job but heres what I came up with. I approxamated your colours, included orange gems as you have elements of that in your scheme and washed one gun (gold part only) with GW Leviathan purple wash.




Aside from me trying to hold back on the temptation to grab your paint job... I like it too much but I must stick to my own! (Lest my DE end up like my former tyranids... unpainted after 4 years with countless test figures!) I have to say I can't decide which is better as they both have their merits. I'm still leaning slightly towards the bottom one with the purple wash but I'm not entirely sure. I hope this helps you.

I think i prefer the normal gold, it contrasts nicely, i must say your skill is impecable.

I just tend to throw in some odd lines and look at them from far away to judge

Stick with what works if you prefer it!

I'm overthinking the purple wash here... I keep having plans of highlights and such. Don't take differences of opinion personally btw; your guys look great reguardless!
