Those vehicle rules are atrocious. 4 immobilized vehicles on turn 1 is aweful. I am not sure why he never wins Dawn though. I would deploy a grey hunter squad and rhino to push you back into your deployment zone and drive on with my Longfangs (disembark into some nice area and run. There is still plenty of time to shoot after that.

Did his dread actually get immobilized or did it just not get a good move?

Yeah, that special rule for the mission boned him hard.... its rules like that that don't have a place in a tourney; its just stupid!

Good win tho

Game 2 up, links added in first post.

Sorry for not responding sooner guys.

@calypso2ts: Only 1 immobilize turn 1, rest on tunr 2 but yeah felt real sorry for the guy. Also the dread did immobilize, those rules didn't make a distinction as far as vehicles were concerned, so walkers were taking dangerous terrain rolls any time they moved, just like other vehicles.

Also the mission wasn't exactly nice to an assault army either. I just happend to be able to skirt terrain and still get a cover save on this board. Also got lucky on the DT rolls I did make. I still lost about 6 stealers or so to DT I think, and maybe 4 gants.

@Zid: Yeah, that rule was kind of rough, shocking that it was used game 1 in the adepticon youngblood format. Not something I would use in a tournament I run, and especially not for 12-18 year old newbies.

Also I should note that locally and at this store specifically we are used to special rules and wacky stuff. We play Astronomicon style missions quite a bit (see strangeloopers batreps for an idea) in pickup and tournament games. There's also a deck of cards that we sometimes use to create a mission. It has similar special rules and wackiness. So locally a mission like this gets a bit more acceptance then it might elsewhere.

Really rough to have dreads immobilized like that, it really hurts some armies and seems a bit sloppy.

I do like the general creativity though of these missions they must be really interesting to play.

Good reports so far. The mission can be a bit odd, and I do feel that the earthquake rule really helped you win that game; not that you would have losses without it.
