Hey there party peoples,

I've been lurking these forums forever but just now getting around to making my first intro post. First off, thanks for being such an awesome and informative community!

My name is Fionn, and I'm a 33 year old father of 3 living and gaming in central Vermont, USA. My good friends Skalk Bloodaxe and Daichallar post here with some regularity. I am a former GW employee, having worked for them both as a phone customer service specialist from 2001 to 2003; if you ever called the 800 number in the USA back then, we may have spoken. I apologize for misquoting the rules to you. I also worked in the GW hobby center in Grapevine Mills, TX, in 2009.

I play Fantasy (Beastmen, Daemons, Empire, Wood Elves, and Ogres) and 40k (Tyranids and Space Wolves). I enjoy winning, but I'm definitely not tournament player material. For me, a good gaming experience involves having a great looking table, rolling loads of dice, drinking a beer or two, and lots of laughing and pantomiming explodey things. I really love the narrative aspect of our hobby; to me a good army is one that is balanced and reflects the content of the lore. I like building themed armies and playing with ideas surrounding the whole "what if" idea (Like, what if a Grey Knight was the sole survivor of an encounter with a brood of Genestealers, and became infected with their gene-seed, and due to his incorruptible nature abused his sudden connection to the Hive Mind to seize control of his own brood of Tyranids, and tried to bend them to the Emperor's will, and was subsequently declared Excommunicat Traitoris by the Inquisition, so worked in secret to try for the betterment of mankind all while being hunted by his former masters?). I like taking strange ideas and figuring out how to reconcile them with the lore.

I'm into tons of other games too, that are less relevant here. I'm mostly a stay-at-home dad these days, but in my professional time I work as a therapist and crisis counselor for young people with emotional and behavioral issues. So that's me!

Pleased to meet you all!

-Winter is coming.

We usually just play at Skalk's house, but we played at Quarterstaff in Burlington last weekend. VERY occasionally I'll make it down to Triple Play in Lebanon, but that was mostly before they moved to their current location. The old spot near Salt Hill pub was nicer.

Meh, I like the new spot.

Triple Play is a great store, frequented by some of the best 40k players I know.
