Good minis. I couldn't care less about rules.

Good opponents. That other white meat of this thread.

No point playing an ace game with gorgeous models if your regular opponents are bell ends.

Struggle of what? The two aren't mutually exclusive. I would 'prefer' to have both... either of them missing makes the game a no-go.

One does not preclude the other.

If I had to choose, I'd rather have good rules. Bad models I can stomach - up to a point - but bad rules are unacceptable.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

The most important thing is good opponents, like a good GM is the most essential thing for role-playing games.

If you've got the good opponents then my next priority is good rules.

Insaniak is right that rules and models are not mutually exclusive. However for most games there is such a wide variety of choice of models that the rules are the most important thing.

Fluff is fourth for me. History and literature is so awash with such huge amounts of great source material that I see little need for a game company to build up a detailed background. The exception would be RuneQuest in Glorantha.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
