So I managed to finish my company command squad.
Nothing fancy in it really, as they Elysians CCS can't have as many options as the normal IG.
So I settled with a naked CCS with only a Vox caster, for orders.
Now I can't decide who is going to be my main captain/general. The model with the "commissar" hat or the beret model.
If I follow WYSIWYG the model with the commissar hat will be the one in use of course.

For the ribbed pipes I used GWs basing kit, but you could use guitar strings too. Not to expensive.

Thanks.
Well true that. They don't have eyes.
I am not to good with eyes really.
So I stay away from doing it on these models until I can do them right.
Also, it's a tactical thing. If they can't see their enemy, they might not run away in fear.

Absolutely awesome man, the heads go really well on elysian bodies. I vote for peaked cap man for commissar.

Wow, the headswaps make them look so much more badass than the stock helmets.
The realistic camo is also an incredibly nice touch.

Looking really good, I like the realistic colour scheme... these guys are probably the guard closest to modern infantry that I've seen! (cadians look either like starship troopers or WWII infantry depending on how you do 'em..). I love the bases too, they really add to the models and are more detailed than most. I'll try picking out some rocks in greys next time I do some basing.
Keep at it and show us an army! You're doing the Elysians justice!

Thanks. I am struggling between swapping all the heads or to keep the helmets.
The camo is simple though. Just layers of green

Thats what I was aiming for. The Beret captain will be fielded in friendly games, and in tournaments the model with a commissar cap will take over.

Thanks alot. The head swaps does alot.
Ralin Givens wrote:Looks awesome man, the squad has a ton of character but is not overwhelming, nicely done!
Thanks. I usually don't do over dramatic poses. This due to the fact I wouldn't go to war striking a pose all the time

Thats one of the reasons why I started to buy the Elysians. The realistic feel, and the fact that they are more to scale, imo.
The importance of bases a friend of mine ( a GD winner for some years ago) have imprinted in my mind. A base will really lift up the overall appearance and even tell a story some times.
A model with a sloppy base or sometime no base work at all, will look like an incomplete model.
So I have spent many hours to find ways to make bases interesting, but not to much detail so it will take over the model it self.
Today I do cheat abit. I make around 10-15 bases (for each army), and cast them. So I just add grass tufts when the base is painted.
If one looks closely on my bases, one will notice that many of them are the same. But I try not to have two of the same kind in one unit.
Here is a picture of my former sisters of battle. They got bases with a temple ground inspiration.
