I tore myself across the bone littered battlefield, Swinging my chainblade into the enemy. Pulling out my Bolt Pistol, I fired rapid shots into the advancing hordes or Orks charging at us. I slashed at an Ork close to me, slicing his body in half. I stabbed my blade forwards, impaling an Ork on my huge sword. I tore it out of his filthy body, and blood spurted out. My Battle brother, Ponitir yelled at me.

“Ortius! Nobs!” He yelled at me. I looked up, and shot my Bolt Pistol. A nob fell down, with two bullets in his stomach. The other one turned to run away, but I ran up, and place a bolt shell in the back of his head. Xeno scum.

“Thank you, brother.” I called back to him. Clipping my Bolt pistol to my belt, I picked up a fallen Heavy Bolter. The Orks were turned into red chunks under the heavy barrage. A Nob charged from my right but I blew him apart with a quick salvo, the heavy bolter was dry. May Sanguinius grant me a swift victory, I prayed quickly. I dropped the spent heavy bolter and pulled my pistol free.

“ For Sanguinius” I aimed at a gigantic Ork in Mega-Armour, and fired at his head. The blast impacted, and he fell down, spurting a huge pool of blood. With my sword swinging rapidly, I advanced. Today, I show them the might of the Imperium of Mankind.

“Retreat!” I yelled to my brothers, and we all fell back in a defensive position. We fired our various weapons, taking out a few huge Orks. The rest charged us, blasting us, while swatting us down like flies. A huge Warboss charged on what was left of us. Slaughtering a few Battle brothers, I watched as more reinforcements rushed at us. Battle brothers around me were ripped apart, and torn in two. I fled. Running away from the terror behind me. I ran, with terrible thoughts in my mind. I tripped on a large stone, and fell face first. Fear flooded throughout my mind.I brought my roaring blade down onto a stunned ork, slicing him in two. I charged a group of retreating orks swinging at them as they ran. The ground rumbled and i came to a halt glancing around for the source. A mob of deff dreads charged us accompanied by a mob of nobs. I fired my bolt pistol of one deff dread in vain as it tore into a pair of veterans, killing both before they could act. Their squad mates gained some small measure of vengeance when they opened fire on it a second later with a missile launcher blowing off its weapons. Another second later they were shredded by the return fire from its two compatriots

When I awoke, I was being held up by two Ork Nobs bigger than I had ever seen before. The warboss stood in front of me. It was a vast and massively muscled bulk of greenskin and patchwork scars. One am was entirely replaced with an astartes power fist, the marking of the Ultramarines chapter still faintly visible under the dirt and grime. "Emperor protect me" I whsipered

“Oi! Boyz! We got ourselves one a ‘dem!” He yelled. He raised his huge claw, preparing to strike me. A blade suddenly swung out at the Warboss, sending his head flying.The nobs looked around wildly for a moment before the sword darted out bisecting them both. I turned around, to see a cloaked figure, bearing runes, and symbols of Chaos. He reached his hand out. I grabbed it, and he pulled me up.

Interesting story. I like your writing style; it makes it easy and enjoyable to read. I'll continue to read and see what happens. Also, this guy must be one pathetic Space Marine considering he fled from battle.

I sat up, shivering with fear. I tried to stretch my arms, to find that they were bound by steel chains. I tried again, only for the chains to hold me back. I yelled time after time.

“Somebody! Let me out!” I struggled more and more. I eventually gave up, and sat down, steadily breathing. What had happened? Where was I? A door opened suddenly, and I was blinded by a flash of streaming light. Somebody walked in. I stare into the pitch black darkness, waiting for something to happen.

“Who are you? Let go of me now!” I screamed at the mysterious figure. Suddenly, all of the lights turned on. I looked up. Standing in front of me was a robed figure, bearing symbols of Chaos, and grisly artifacts. He flicked out a large, forked tounge, and smiled.

“Hello.” He whispered simply. He reached his hand out to me, showing a symbol of Slaanesh, deeply cut into his hand. Oh, no.

“Chaos scum!” I yelled at the figure, trying to break the chains. Yet again, they held me back. I felt fear in my heart.

“Ah, thinking that so soon? Remember, we saved your life, Blood Angel.” He said, circling around me. He was right.

“So, what are you going to do? Kill me like you always do?” I asked. He smiled, and brought his face close to mine.

“Well, I could. But, don’t you want to live?” He asked, his face still a few inches from mine. I nodded.

“Well, we saved you, and I am feeling merciful, today. In order for you to live, you must fully pledge yourself to Chaos. Do remember that the Emperor abandoned you, in that battle. You saw fellow brother slaughtered. The Emperor is nothing more than a living corpse.” He said, keeping a straight face. How could I let this....thing corrupt me, say that the Emperor is a corpse? But, the Emperor did abandon me in that battle, and let brothers die. He abandoned me, like he had so many others. This Slaanesh worshipper was right. And, I got to live. I slowly laughed a slow chuckle. I looked up.

“So, I get to live, and I serve Chaos for the rest of my life?” I asked. He nodded, his lips curling into a cruel smile. I did the same. Today, I had been corrupted by the Dark Gods of Chaos. Today, the Imperium is my enemy. From this day on, I fight for Chaos.


Small part now, large part tommorow. I figured this was the best place to stop. I shall continue the story of Ortius.

Another interesting part. He turned pretty quickly, but I supposed he was forced and will probably have regrets.

The Slaanesh worshipper looked down, examining me. He circled around me, fumbling with something. He finally spoke.

“Now, what is your name?” He asked me.

“Ortius.” I said, flatly. He raised an eyebrow.

“Ortius, eh’? Hm, well, Ortius, I think will some training, you will make a great addition to the Black Legion.” The Slaanesh Worshipper said.

“Thank you....Sir...” I stammered. He nodded.

“You shall now address me as Lord Vilatus, is that clear, now Ortius?”

“Transparent.” I said. He walked over, and undid the chains. I got up, and looked around the dark room. Seemed to be a prison of some sort. Lord Vilatus motioned for me to follow him. We reached a closed door, and Vilatus pressed in a few numbers. The door automatically opened, and we stepped outside. We reached a large room, where various warriors of Chaos, such as Noise Marines, Plague Marines, and Thousand Sons, in addition to the standard warrior. Many bowed when Vilatus walked through. Vilatus motioned for me to stand next to some standard troops.

“Brothers, we have a new recruit.” He said, and pointed to me. Some sneered, others laughed. After that, he lectured all of us on the Imperium, and how we must hate it. He told us how to think like the Imperial troops, and destroy them, which I already knew. At one point, he brought out a whimpering Imperial citizen, chained, and bloody.

“Ortius, step forward.” He said. One Khorne Berserker gave me a shove, and I stumbled forward. Vilatus snickered. He handed me a Bolt pistol, inscribed with markings of ancient, forbidden names. I stared at the pistol in my hand.

“Well, Ortius, prove yourself, by killing this Imperial scum.” The citizen shivered with fear.

“Traitor!” He yelled at me. Could I really kill him? Would I really kill this helpless citizen? I had to survive. I loaded up the Bolt Pistol, aimed, and fired. The shot impacted, blowing a hole into his head. I walked back to my position, and stood. Vilatus smiled. He went on about the Imperium, and battle tactics. He motioned for me to follow him, and I followed him into a hallway.

“Very good, Ortius, you killed that Imperial scum without hesitation. Anyways, we need to get you trained. And find you a Patron god, if you want.”

“Yes, sir, but I think that that might be a little early to discuss.”

“Not at all, Ortius, we must find a Patron God for you, and you must make the Blood Deal.” Vilatus said.

“A Blood Deal....Sir?” I asked, confused.

“Well, you must offer up a little bit of you......Imperial Blood, as if to rid all of it. It is a ritual practiced by many powerful figures.” He said as if it were the most obvious thing in the Galaxy. Ortius nodded. A Chaos Marine in Pre-Heresy armour walked up to them.

“Lord Vilatus, my Lord. And who is this...weakling?” The Chaos Marine asked. Ortius felt a shiver down his spine. The Chaos Marine smiled at how scared Ortius was.

“O’dian. A pleasure to see you. And this is Ortius, former Blood Angel. He showed us loyalty by killing an Imperial citizen in cold blood.” Vilatus said. Cold blood. Those words rushed in his head.

“Well, then, I leave you two now.” O’dian said. He walked away from them, silently.

“Now, Ortius, we must get down to business.”

Yeah, he's getting into the Black Legion pretty quickly. I like how the other Chaos Space Marines dislike him. Makes sense, considering he's just some loyalist who fled a battle and now Vilatus is suddenly calling him a Chaos Space Marine like the rest of them.

It looks like Ortius was motivated by pure self preservation. The Citizen probably should've begged for his life instead of calling Ortius a Traitor, as that would've increased his chances of survival. But he was probably a crazy extremist like most Imperials so I bet that didn't cross his mind.

I walked down the twisting windways of the ship with Vilatus, silently.

“So, where do I.....go to make this Blood Deal?” I asked, finally breaking the silence. He looked upon me curiously.

“Well, you must go to the Grand Sorcerer Nistar, and ask him what to do.” Vilatus said.

“Thank you, my lord, but where can I find him?” I asked.

“You must find him yourself, I am afraid. I must go now. And remember, if I find out anything bad, involving you, I can kill you.” He said with a smile. I walked on, trying to find anyone who knew where Nistar was. I bumped into someone, who hissed at me. With purple armour, and long white hair. Emperor’s Children. He unsheathed his sword, and got closer to me.

“So, Imperial scum, how did you get aboard this ship?” He asked.

Interesting new part. It looks like the titular Blood Deal is coming up. Also, Emperor's Children are jerks. Just felt the need to state that.
