On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Hi

Just a quick query, and sorry if this is in the wrong section, but is there any way of providing feedback to mods? Specifically I understand that it's against the rules to question modding decisions, but I wondered if there was some kind of central hub whereby you could submit requests? Specifically concerning closed threads and such like. Also, I'd be curious to know if closed threads have ever been re-opened? I've actually worked as a mod on other boards, and in that case we had a board that would discuss issues that had been brought to our attention, which mitigated the problems of someone having a bad day and perhaps closing a thread or deleting posts when they shouldn't have etc.
So, I wondered if Dakka had any kind of similar system?

Thanks, Pacific

Sending a PM is the easiest option.

Not sure where you got that idea. We have no problem with people questioning why we do what we do... the only real 'rule' on that is that we don't discuss disciplinary action taken against a poster with other posters. If you just want to know why a thread was closed, or want further clarification on why you've received a warning or a suspension, just contact the mod responsible and they'll usually be more than happy to explain the situation.

From time to time, yes. It depends on the reason the thread was closed.

There is a moderation log that all of the mods have access to, and a closed forum where we keep track of mod response to issues on the boards, so that the entire mod team can see what has been done and can discuss the situation where it is warranted. That tends to mitigate issues that might arise from having a bad day, or personal issues with particular posters.
