Hello dakka this is dangerhawk, here to share with you the start of my dark eldar army!

As of now its about 15 warriors painted and 5 of my test minis stripping as we speak. I have 20 wyches in the works and more jet bikes then i will really field...

so here goes with the pictures c and c always welcome.





so those are the boys... and girls so far, i have 5 scourge painted just haven't taken any photos yet.

No more waiting for Necrons Dark Eldar it is.

What colors did you use? these are some of the best color scheme i have seen, cant imagine what your Wych will look like.

thanks a lot luna, the color scheme although a bit washed out in my phone photos is as follows,

-base coat of dark flesh over black primer,
-drybrush bleached bone over the armor plates, gryphon cepia wash over that,
-edge highlight "line highlight" armor plates with bleached bone again,
-hex purple for the flesh loincloth with a highlight of hex+cold gray
- the boots and under suit is cold gray and chaos black mix in a 1:3 ratio then washed with badab black.
metal is just standard copper with teal wash

I'm most likely forgetting some important steps but thats the basics, the scourges i primed white, and the washing got a bit out of hand... they are quite leathery not as boney as i would like!

I got a name from the color scheme!

Cabal Tetanus

There has to be a better way to do it, but I don't know it yet...

As for a real kabal name, im thinking about stellarvores , spectral so and so/ kabal of the dying moon/ something grim and cold and evil, ya-know dark eldary! although tetanus would be a painful death

Tetanus fits with the color scheme and.....

in the grim dark 40k there are no Tetanus shots ( poison weapons aka rusted nails! )

Cabal of the irradiated bling!

So I am hoping to do a couple haemonculi kit bash/ converts... I am thinking about using the WHFB Chaos Sorcerer Lord body, the one with the staff and clutching hand. I don't know if its body is too big though, If there is a fellow dakkite out there with both a Chaos sorcerer and a kabalite warrior well any new DE model and could take a photo for size reference that would be brilliant!

The basic idea is i will take the limbs from the Talos model and sculpt a back lump for them to come out of... that is assuming the lord isnt huge next to my warriors....

Something you could do for the Back,is to use a Cabalite Warrior back and glue it on the back of the Lord.

Those look like a good start! Is that the empire flagellant body?

I am thinking I could use scourge bodies, but I like that one you have there!

The sorcerer lord body has such good flow in the robes I'm not quite ready to give up on it.

So My Haemonculi parts are incoming! I'm going for the IoB HE archmage as i figure his proportions should be closer to my DE than the chaos lord.
Also he is $2.79 on horde o bits versus 8 something for the body of the chaos lord, so if he isn't quite right i will feel better about the loss!
I'm hoping to get some work in on the wyches after work Monday, so i might have some updated pictures soon.

So its been a few since I have updated this plog, I am still waiting on my bits but i have made good progress on the wyches.
I have a quick preview of one but they are quite a bit farther along than this one but here goes...

Well that is it for now... I'm going to start the body suits on the wyches tonight and maybe if I feel inspired or driven i will start on the skin!

p.s. I just bought the tube molds from http://www.masq-mini.com/ and was wondering if any other member from the states has ordered anything from there and could recall the shipping time, i wish i had ordered them like a month ago...

Update time again, wyches just need flesh tone and touch up and i made some more progress on the haemonculi!

-I am not doing a full venom spam list although i am running blaster borns in them, but otherwise its a raider list, if funds and free time where limitless i would love to make a coven list, but to be honest the wrack models are underwhelming to me as is much of the coven... model wise. As for the talos I have play tested it and found it to be little more then a half killy speed bump that gets out paced by everything else... so while i own a new talos model it will be converted in to a deamon prince when this project is done and i can start the rebuild of my chaos!

Thank you very much, as for your offer on kabal names, while they are awesomely descriptive, its a bit too visceral... i cant stop imagining how awful that would be!


the chest is a GS press mold I made from one of the scourge torso, and the flesh apron is hand sculpted...


and thats it for today im still working away, and i need to con my brother in to doing a proper photo shoot for me so i can stop posting grainy iphone photos...
