When people talk about epic scale games what do they mean? Is it like big miniatures like titans and stuff or something completely different?????

Epic in scale, or 40K epic?

If it is Epic in scale, they are talking about 40K with titans and larger 8X8 boards. I was in a couple of these games.

They are fine if you have the time.

For 40K Epic, GW had a game that you could play Large scale Wargaming with titans, and mass battles on a small surface. the guys were like tiney, with 5 to a base.

The game is smaller the FOW scale.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Epic scale means approximately Epic 40K scale of models.

Speaking of which: I wish someone would start making "not-GW" Epic models. I would love to build an Epic Ork army, but the infantry are ass...

"epic" scale is also known as "1/300", "Microarmour", and 6mm.

Classic Battletech is supposed to be 1/300th.
Many companies make stuff in that scale (as well as model railway makers. I believe it's referred to as "ZZ" scale for them).

Actually, there are plenty of guys who make 6mm figures that can be used for Epic:

-Dark Realm Miniatures
-Steel Crown Productions <-- awesome, awesome 'Not-Necrons' and 'Not-Imperial Guard'
-Baccus 6mm

^Just a few of the 6mm sci-fi miniature makers out there

I have some of those Battletech figures from about 20 odd years ago and the infantry are considerably bigger than GWs Epic miniatures, less of a problem for the vehicles.

GW. Do still sell Epic incase you have got the impression it is OOP. Rules are free to download and the minis are on the specialist games part if their website. It's a good game.

IMO, Epic Armageddon , seem to be far more in synergy with 40k background than the '40k rules' do.

Probably because the epic scale of the background suits the scale of EA better?

Just a thought.
