Where in the US are you and what books are you looking for? There are 2-3 sources for most of the 2nd ed books here in Colorado Springs. We started a 2nd ed campaign this year, so many of us needed to get them, luckily a couple stores started carrying regular reselling stock. They range from $10-20(averaging either $12 or $15) per book. Most of them are in good condition, some in really good condition. If you're not nearby, PM me a list of which books you're looking for, I can get you a total of the ones I can find on Wednesday, maybe even a shipping quote.

Your best bet to get them for a decent price is to find nearby used books stores and check them out. I've found quite a few of them for really cheap from nearly all editions. Aside from that, you could always keep an eye on eBay, though the holiday season is the worst time of the year to buy anything, really.
What specifically are you looking for though? I may have a few extras myself.

Try eBay, which you will have already done. But now try Uk eBay. Even if Uk auctions list rest of world for shipping you wont see them on a search from the US. I go to US eBay a lot because you get different stuff on the same search.
I find there is no shortage of vintage D&D of all stripes on UK auction sites. Just a search right now brought up several good condition copies of AD&D 2nd edition material on the first page, and there was 21 pages at 50 items a page.

You should be able to find them in pdf format on the internet. Since they are out of print I am guessing they are free, but a quick google search should let you find that out for yourself.

Actually they used to be for sale on sites like DrivethruRPG, but WotC pulled them from sale due to people buying and then sharing them with everyone. They are out of print, but still under copyright I believe which leaves them in a bit of a grey area. Luckily I picked up most of them *before* WotC went wonky on the subject of selling PDFs.
Usually AD&D 2nd edition books can be found on ebay and often show up used through the Amazon.com marketplace as well. Depending on how well they were treated I've found them to run the gamut of "like new" to "barely held together by the binding".

You might look into some of the retro clones, like Swords & Wizardry -- although that is a clone of the original game.
