Several years past I joined this forum during my last attempt to get back into miniature gaming. And when I say get "back in" I mean seriously start. So, this is my re-introduction post. I've had several false starts with miniature collecting in the past decade. Mostly brought on by my own lack of painting skill and almost no one in my area to play against. However, after watching numerous videos on Youtube of battle reports and painting guides (shout out to MiniatureWarGaming.com) I've once more been bitten by the model painting bug.

As with my last attempt to jump in it looks like things are approaching a transitional phase for 40k. My army of choice is Space Marines in general, the Scythes of the Emperor in particular, and from everything I've read online it seems that 6th Edition will be coming along shortly. Complete with the obligatory new Space Marines codex and miniatures. Then on the Warhammer Fantasy side of things my chosen army is Bretonnia. They seem to have the opposite problem of being so out of date that the army book I bought back in 2003 is still current. Even though it was written two editions past.

So, basically I'm going to get some paints and give the small number of marine miniatures I still have a go for practice. After that should I wait for 6th Edition to hit before I buy new miniatures and a Codex or will it be far enough off for the current stuff to be worth it? Also, is there any hope that Bretonnia will get any love anytime in this lifetime?
