So, originally, it all started off with me casually making this after looking at the Dystopian wars thread we have here:

Then I thought, 'hey, I like Steampunk Gaming, and I don't have the money / space / patience to buy Dystopian Wars... I'll make my own!'
Then I looked at all of my Robogear plastics I got a while back, and decided I'd best start using more of those to whittle it down a bit.
And for a final then, my dad brought home some WW2 era battleships that he'd pulled out of the hopper (did I mention he works at a recycling centre?) just before they were crushed to pieces. I can't believe my luck sometimes...

And so, I attacked my Robogear sprues and warhammer 40k spares, and have begun work on four factions for the game, the Egyptian Theocracy, the British Commonwealth, the Democratic Republic of East Prussia (DREP), and the Chinese Imperium. I am also working on ideas for rules, while periodically coming up with bits of fluff.

So, here we have another picture of the walker (hereby christened the Egyptian Scorpion Class Walker with Energy Launcher). This one shows the Egyptian Sigil (an old CSM Rhino plate I had laying around). The rest of it is made from a Robogear 'Spider' vehicle, Green Stuff, and a weapon from some other Robogear vehicle:

These are the DREP Krieger Class Konigspanzers, armed with Heat Rays (a Steampunk Stalwart), made entirely of Robogear 'Hurricane' pieces (apart from the weapons) and green Stuff:

These are the only proper 'Infantry' units (but really they are artillery) I have made for the game as of yet, British Commonwealth Anti Landship (AL) Rocket Batteries, made out of FoW bases, Greenstuff and Robogear Infantry Rocket Launchers:

Starting on the naval units, which will require a lot of painting to make them look 'Steampunky', I bring you Frigates! As you can tell, one of them is a former micromachines toy that i haven't thrown out, but I'll be unsure if I can actually summon up the courage to paint it (being a nostalgic git despite being only 16). The other was the first of the 'Hopper Fleet' as I've taken to calling it, with a little green stuff tower on part of it (I got bored..)

Next on the list is a cruiser that will no doubt serve in the British Commonwealth, seeing that all the funnels make it look so... British! This, and all the following ships on this post, are the entirety of the 'Hopper Fleet'.

This one is a fully fledged Battleship - a Chinese Junker (although it will probably have been of British or Prussian origin). It will no doubt have to be converted to make it more 'Chinese', but at the moment its not too bad.

And another battleship, a DREP one in fact. I like how it is slightly sloped to make it more imposing. its probably my favourite ship aside from the Cruiser.

And finally, ladies and gentlemen, we have the Carrier, no doubt a Commonwealth vessel. It looks a little too 'WW2' at the moment, so a bit of greenstuff and drinking straw funnels are in order, methinks!

And that's all for now folks! I should be able to upload a few more pics soon, maybe even some fluff, but for now its all over. Please comment and say what you liked, didn't like, ideas, or whatever. I'm currently looking for a way to represent infantry. I want to use the Robogear Infantry bases, but obviously the soldiers are too big (even Epic miniatures are too big!). Should I just use Epic minis and paint them up to look like they should be there, or should I look for an alternate method?

I've made a Commonwealth / Egyptian Air-Gunship that is quite literally a flying gun. I should have a picture up by tonight.

Also, could somebody PLEASE post about this. Is it good, bad or ugly? Do you have any qualms about the miniatures, or any ideas for the rules? Tell me!

I'll oblige you, alot of the time people on here don't seem to comment a great deal until projects have got a few pages long, don't ask me why though, a dakka phenomenon i guess. Dont give up though i think its looks really promising! I didn't get to check the fluff, but im liking the miniatures so far! the walker especially, and the factions seem like solid ideas =] Look forward to seeing more.

Ah, I get it. Well thats cool.

Just finished making this Argyll class Sky Galleon for the Commonwealth. It is basically a flying gun.

Here it is:

Also, instead of dragging myself down and getting bored out of my skull doing this, I will occasionally do a few random minis to keep myself doing something new. For example, a couple of nights ago, I painted up Baird and Marcus from the Gears of War boardgame:

Now to get on with painting up my Space marine army... *sigh*

But I might start painting up some of the steampunk stuff soon, and try to work out some loose rules for it to work with.
