I'm not 100% positive if this is the right place to post this, so if I'm wrong it would be great if a mod could move it.
As the title states, I'm trying to find the best place to buy Warhammer in large quantities. I've had a bunch of people suggest the swap shop, but I can't seem to find the amount of stuff that I need to purchase. I keep seeing these ads on ebay where it's Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard Chimera x6 from Discount Warhammer Fantasy and 40k. The link to the ad is below.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Warhammer-40K-Imperial-Guard-Chimera-x6-/390387865703?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae4ee1867#ht_1698wt_1163
Is this a legit auction on ebay? It seems like a reasonable deal, but I want to make sure I don't get suckered into a scam

Hmmm 18993 feedback with a 99.8% positive feedback rating... it must be a scam! Seriously, what do you think after seeing that? Sounds pretty legit to me.
Anyway, aside from that, the only thing I can really think of is to show up at your FLGS (independent stockist) with a few thousand dollars in cold hard cash and cut a deal with the manager to get stuff at 30+% discount or somesuch, special order whatever isn't already in stock.

I've purchased auctions from that seller before and was very pleased. I don't think their buy it now sales are a good deal though. That works out to $29.4 (usd) per chimera. You can get chimeras from miniature market (dakka sponsor) for $26.25. Not sure how shipping would impact your decision though.
Edit: I'd bet dicebucket can get what you want cheaper than discount games store also.

I placed an order with them about two weeks ago, no contact by email, no shipping number. Sent them an email asking where it was and they apologized and said it would be a while because they were out of stock of the tactical marine squads that they were still listing as quantity 30+ in stock. They said it would be a week or so or they would refund me plus $5.00 for inconveinience. I chose the refund as another auction I wanted was ending soon and waited for the refund. They refunded the purchase, but told eBay that I had made a mistake in ordering. I have since left a negative review, and they contacted me immediately saying that if I change it to positive or neutral then they would give me $10.00. I have since responded back to them that I am not after money or anything along those lines, that I am just leaving an honest response of someone that they failed to deliver to twice.
Just so you guys don't think I'm out to dupe someone, I just want to let you know that all the 99% positive feedbacks out there aren't because of exceptional service, but because of companies willing to show a good face by paying off upset customers. It's done everyday in retail, the internets no exception. If you like the bargain, order it, I'm sure they'll work with you on it.
I was hoping they were a reputable company, but some of what I read in their email to me shows otherwise.
As for me, I am building an entire space marine chapter. It is based off of the armory listed in the codex for the ultramarines. I have over three companys already and was trying them out because of price. From my experience I think I'll stick with retailers like thewarstore.com who I have ordered thousands of dollars from.

The best way to buy in bulk is to talk to retailers. Give them a reason the discount and they will.
Put £200 or whatever on the counter and they will take you seriously and be open to a deal. Being friendly or mates with them also helps.
Wayland Games actually have a buy on their site promoting club orders and bulk deals if your ask.
All of the above does not apply to purchases from GW by the way.

I've made around 4-5 purchases from them. Had no issues until I ordered two boxes of Lootas from them. They PM'd me the next day after buy-it-nowing from them, and informed me they were out. I said that was fine, and I would take the refund. There was no issues. They just cancelled the transaction.

Having just recently got into wargaming, I did a lot of research into the best way to purchase my necron army all at once. Besides picking up a couple things in the swap shop here, I placed a large order with Miniature Market. They offer 25% off of retail price, which would come out to around $157 for six chimeras, and free shipping on any orders over $99.
The only hassle is that they are not allowed to feature their GW line on their web store and so you need to download a spreadsheet with their GW pricing and then email or phone your order into them. It is only a minor hassle, but well worth the money saved. I don't think you can do better than these guys if you are in the US.

It is not available on the website. Email them at gamesworkshop@miniaturemarket.com and request an order form. I think they are closed on sat&sun though.
Edit: I use the form to determine pricing but I've always phoned in my order to them. Just my personal preference.

All of them?? I have 100% positive feedback through providing consistently awesome customer service.. and all the top-rated 99.9%+ positive sellers Ive bought from have given me similarly awesome service. The best way to deal with an upset customer is to sort out the problem!!
OT-
How much are you going to spend? get a bunch of friends together to make a properly massive order, then set up a simple webstore and get a GW trade account for the purchase.. or if that is to much hassle send it to all the webstores you like and see what the best deal is that comes back.
That ebay store looks to be completely ok, you dont get that many good feedbacks without doing somthing right!

$44 is the cheapest you can get from the forge here, FLGS is $55.
Discount games store you can regularly get $30 for the same, if we still had access to overseas sites for $25 it'd be bliss.

The first purchase from Dicebucket I made was a couple of months ago, I bought 1 sm scout sprue, 1 dev, and a sm command sprue. It arrived missing the emperor champ head. I didn't bother to complain.
just this week I bought 1 box csm, 1 khorne berzerkers sprue, and 1 possessed sprue. They arrived 4 days later and I was missing the csm special weapons/icon/champ sprue, one set of transfers, and one backpack for the KB's. Not cool.
I have contacted them the only way I can find on the website and it has been three days since I emailed them and have not heard anything yet. I hope I hear from them soon.

Buying in bulk? Craigslist is the way to go, if you're not after NIB models. It's very easy to buy 3000+ point armies for 60% off of retail cost.
However, I've made sizable orders through Dicebucket and have had no problems. You might wanna talk to blood angel. I think that he may be associated with them in some way, and even if that's not the case, he's got one of the highest trader reps in the swap shop.

As a fellow Canadian who has actually used these guys I can tell you they are legit and pretty good. Terrible at responding to your questions though. Not very good service IMO. However, when I ordered from them (2 times) I was subject to customs fees of 25$ for my order. You don't save all that much when all things are considered. Since you are in Canada like me we get subject to the drastic increase in price different from that of the US. Your best bet is to find an online dealer in the States that will ship at reduced prices like 30% off retail. Also note that all their models are NOT in box and you simply receive the spurs. Depending on where you are in Canada there are several Discount stores that will be better options. Consider the fact you get the 6 chimeras for: 177$ 15$ shipping 25$ customs fee (happened both orders for me) 217$ total approx 252$ retail at a GW only saves you 35$ Heavy support Games for example is 20% off retail and you get NIB plus free shipping over 150$ 201.60 plus tax I personally will never use them again.

Talk to your gaming store if you have one.
I spend a bit too much on this game and in the month of November I bought an entire 4,000 point Grey Knight army, 750-1,000 points of Dark Eldar, and about 200-300 points of Chaos all NIB. The store did a lot of thinking and math and gave me I think 37% off which was almost as good as buying the models used.

I think your best bet is to go to your local game shop and talk to the owner. Tell him everything you need and ask if he can give you a discount if you buy it all in one fell swoop. Offer to leave a deposit for things you need to special order especially if it's a lot of stuff.

You'd be amazed at what the stores pay versus what we pay. It's not as huge of a difference as some people think but it is substantial. As long as there is profit to be made I'm sure some deal can work out.

All products are like that. The difference is if you like the store and want
it to stay around for a while you pay MSRP. I don't think most brick and mortar
stores can afford to give 30-40% discounts even with a high volume of
sales.

I imagine the extra profit per box would've helped immensely. But it's still a sale versus not making one. I have never purchased anything aside from bits online as I think supporting your FLGS is more important than voting for the President.
Our store's standard is 10% off boxes and another 10% if you have a membership ($10 for a year). That's already pretty competitive with online stores. It was more of a reward for what business I have done for them than a "I'll buy online if you don't drop the price" (in fact, the only thing that was said to them was when I handed them a list and said "give me a price on this").
It's worth a shot. In the end, I always suggest going to your local gaming store before anyone else. Even if I had to pay 125% of MSRP I would because these are people who are risking their financial security to do something that we all know isn't very profitable because it's something they love (at least most of them).
