I've just started playing this game, which I have been looking forwards to for a year.
I've completed the first two levels. I haven't met another traveller yet.
The artwork and music style is good.
The game overall is a bit reminiscent of Tomb Raider, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, without the violence. It is all about the exploration.

I want to try it but I keep hearing that you blink and it is over. Still it looks amazing, both aesthetically and technically.

I've already finished it, in about 3-4 hours. i met eight different companions on my quest.
When you get to the end you are sent back to the beginning with an extra ring on your cloak, so now I am playing it through a second time.
It is definitely a game with a lot more to see than you can do in one run through.
It's not a difficult game in terms of game play.

I really am interested in this game, try to keep myself waiting until pay day hahaha.
Do you think it is worth the publicity it is getting at the moment?

I'd definitely buy it if it was on Steam, it looks absolutely breathtaking, but I don't like the idea of buying PSN games.

It's the kind of game that gets a lot of plaudits because it's imaginative, has beautiful production design, and introduces an interesting new play mechanism (the unknown companion who cna help or hinder).
But because it doesn't involve bald, shouty space marines with chainsaws, it won't sell a lot. Automatically Appended Next Post: I've been round again. If you ignore a lot of the content you can get through the game in a couple of hours.
It helps to have a helpful companion. Part of the challenge is to get the trophies which depend on co-operation with the companion. I haven't got any of them yet.
It's interesting that at the end of the game you are shown a list of the companions you met, and your screen name will appear on someone else's list. Automatically Appended Next Post: Apparently I have completed 19% of the game in my two goes.

I picked it up, if for no other reason than to encourage more innovative games like this.

Thank you for buying my company's products.
I've just finished the game -- -- a third time.
This time I met a companion who was also on their third journey, but they knew some secret locations and helped me find them. We stuck together for the last few levels and managed to get the trophy with a companion. That got me to 23% completed.
I don't know why but their cloak was ivory-cream rather than red. Perhaps it's a trophy you can pick up. So, that encourages me to go for a fourth run.
The game is short but there is a lot of replayability. Once you start a second journey, you recognise that . So you can recognise the more experienced players. Part of the fun is to try and help the companions who are on their first journey.

I like it when games give you visual feedback.
How would you describe the user interface? Is there a lot of interaction or ... well.. what is your experience with that?

S.
The user interface is entirely contained within the game.
There are only four controls -- Move (left stick), jump/fly (CROSS), sing (CIRCLE), and Camera (right stick or SixAxis).
You can't get killed or lose wounds, etc. The main thing you need to track is how much flight magic you have got and whether it is charging or discharging.
This is done by the length of your scarf and the amount of lit up magic symbols on it. The lit section shrinks when you fly and fills up when you gather more magic. The scarf gets longer when you collect special bits of magic,
Secondly, you can't get too far off the proper path because it is constrained by cliffs or strong winds. So you'll always gradually make your way towards the goal even if it is out of sight.
Thus there is no need for a HUD.
The interaction between players can only be done by singing and running around. There is no clear way to indicate to the other player what you want to do. In fact you don't even know their screen name. All you see is the symbol they broadcast when singing, which is randomly assigned.
Even so there is a real feeling of companionship if the other person is helpful. For example, you might fall down a hole and they might jump down to show you a different path up.
There are various reasons for sticking together.
