Here's my little project I've been working on. Making markers for skills, actions, and orders.

The ones I made with the Yu Jing and CA logos on them are my order markers. I flip them over as I use them.

How I made these: I got the idea for them when I as at the craft store, Michael's. I saw they had cheep 1" wooden disks. They cost about 1.50 for 7 in a pack.

I also got some label paper so I didn't have to glue anything. Just peel and place.

Now since I can be a bit picky, I wanted them to look really good so I bought at 1/4" hole punch at Michael's as well. I could save money and cut them by hand with a knife or scissors but I figure I can find some use for this in other areas at some point. Nice thing about Michael's is they almost always have a coupon too. It cost less than $5.00 with the coupon.

Again because I wanted them too look cool I painted them rather than plain wood. I used orange for my YJ and Lavender for my CA order counters. Black is done for the others.

Since I'm a graphic artist I have access to good design programs. I used only parts of pdfs from CB. I also wanted more numbers on my camo markers. Doing Shasvastii means a lot of camo markers and needing to keep track of them. So I added more numbers and put different colors behind the number.

Also, I reduced the size of the markers to be 1/4" round so when placed on the disk they would have an edge to them. I found the supposedly 1" disks are a bit shy of 1"! So if you were to get the 1" hole cutter you would find the label to be bigger.

One thing that should be done slightly differently than how I first did them is to spray them with finish BEFORE putting on the stickers. I noticed that the stickers don't adhere well to the disks because the are too porous. Sealing them first well make the stickers hold on better. You can still seal them after. It will in fact be good for the paper label. It might depend on the paint that you use too. I used a semi-gloss because that's just what I had but I'd recommend a gloss for it.

I found a great box to put the markers in. And now it also has a big 3" Yu Jing sticker on top.

I found also another new material thanks to my wife. It's a sheet of plastic used for sewing templates. It cuts with a scissors beautifully.

It's stiff enough that they hold up well.

Price-wise I'm not sure. It was a pretty big sheet and my wife says it was only a few bucks. But her version of a few and mine is different.

Hah yeah. I saw a nice tutorial on the Infinity forums a few months ago regarding a 1" hole-punch and sticker paper.

Instead of wood, I used 1" outside-diameter Fender washers. Adds a bit of weight to it.

I've now got two hole punches. 1/4" and 1". They are great.
