The best heros that I can think of are: boromir, king ellesar, durin, gandalf the white

well, the most powerful list is Dain, Bombadil and goldberry. But as Tom and goldberry are unusable in tourneys these days i'd haveto say it would be the current tourney winning list of:

Boromir
Elessar
Gandalf
Galadriel.

Cause of the Dain, Tom and Goldberry list. The list is pretty much unbeatable. Not entirely sure why though XD would need someone else to elaborate on that.

From just a quick look in the sourcebook I'm guessing it's because noone can go into the control zone of Goldberry or Tom, they can't be targeted by range attacks and any fight tom is involved in he auto wins (but he, or anyone else involved in the fight can't strike blows). They both have magical powers which restore 1 W, 1 might, 1 fate and 1 will per turn to one model and they can use a point of will each turn for free to do this (the power works on a 2+). Put this with Dain's 3 wounds, 3 might and D9 you can see how this would be unbeatable.

He also has like 3 fate points as well i think. You would just have to get really lucky shooting and attacking him with everything and hope to burn through all of his wounds and fate points in 1 turn.

I figure if you were playing lords of battle though you might win seeing as you get a VP for each wound and fate point they lose.

Oh yeah I forgot about fate but he has 2 . You could do it if you were extremely lucky!

Yeah that's true! Although this list was used and subsequently banned pre-warband days so that issue probably never cropped up

The top 3 in my book (excluding those that are limited to certain scenarios) are all good guys:

3: Gandalf the White
2- Dain
1- Boromir of the White Tower.

For me Boromir CotWT is one, Aragorn KW two and Elladan and Elrohir three.

If it was value for points, Still Boromir one, eowyn two and Damrod three.

There is rivendell elrond and there is last alliance elrond

What is so good about galadriel?

Galadriel is a beast. If you have people within 6 inches of her mirror thing during the move phase they can restore all their fate points for free once per turn. Plus she's a nasty caster anyway.

I think she's an awesome hero. Great supoorty type. Just have to try and keep her out of combat. But that's why you have people like Aragorn and Boromir.

How would those good heros do against a Sauron and Balrog army

well, for those sorts of points can imagine you could get a few decent heroes and you'd likely win. I mean the list of just aragon KE mounted, Boromir CotWT mounted, Gandalf the white Mounted on shadowfax and Galadriel is the current tourney winning list. So can imagine them plus more would easily win.

I'd love to have a game between the fellowship vs the nine riders. That would be fun.

My brothers got the starter set and the Balrog and I've got dain and gimlie and Sauron so I haven't got that much really
