So i was thinking of making a Tuff ork army, diddent add the points yeat, for 3000 pts. would be a nasty army.

2 Ork Warbosses. w/ Mega Arm 100 x 2 = 200 pts.

10 Mega Arm. Nobs 400 pts. w/ battlewagon 90 pts. (counts as troops, thanks to the bosses.)

10 Mega Arm. Nobs 400 pts. w/ battlewagon 90 pts. (counts as troops, thanks to the bosses.)

20 Storm boyz 240 pts.

20 Storm Boyz 240 pts.

20 Storm Boyz 240 pts.

3 Killa Kans 105

3 Killa Kans 105

3 Killa Kans 105

Comes out to 2530 pts., add some. add some riggers here and there. i think it'll be a VERY nasty army indeed!

I think you need to recalculate your points. Killa Kans NEED to bring a weapon. The Storm boys wouldn't really last from a half decent shooting army. Other than that good nice list xD

Right you are, ok how about,...2215 (is that right?.......re-do w/calculator... Thats what i keep getting)

For the Storm Boyz,
3 Nobs w, boss poles (for the Stormboyz) 45 pts.

Grot Zookas for the Killa Kanz, 90 Pts.

leaves 650 pts.

add.... ..... 30 boyz for meat shield?
what else should i get?

Not sure where the over powered is here, fyi if your going to put the war bosses in the wagons you have to drop 1 mega nob in each squad. Keep in mind you only have 2 troops on the field and are very very expensive. If you have to keep them drop some storm boyz get some boyz, elite lists for orks doesn't work out too well as most armys can just spam fire you to death, they'll make your nobs walk across the table and brace for the storm boyz. All squads need PK with nob w/ bp, keeps your army in line and until you get the kan wall and nobs across the table you have no anti tank.

No, just no. Tank bustas are all but worthless. If you want dakka, you want lootas. Also, drop the stormboyz. I've used them before, and the only thing they're good for, is getting themselves killed faster than regular boyz. Groups of boyz in trucks are just as fast, cheaper, and more survivable.

I would recommend playing smaller points level games for a bit, not only do Orks go downhill, competitive wise, at point levels higher than 1500 or so but it is alot easier to gauge how good/fun certain units are. If your quite new to the game as well a high point level can (and often still do for me and I've been playing 8 months or so) take all day.

I'm only guessing your quite relatively new to 40k, please don't be offended, and ignore above, if your not. If you go into this all guns blazing you risk being overwhelmed and very poor.

Anyways, on topic, boyz are one of the best troop choices, the old adage goes "boyz before toyz" and it has been proven to be correct time and time again.

Cheers,

Dave.

I would not say this is overpowered.

You've got too many toyz, not enough boyz.

What happens if you come up agains plasma spamming marines? 2 rounds of shooting and you'll have nobody to assault with.

9 kans and 2 bw with no kff to protect em? Why? Just Why? Also you have no place to put the warbosses without getting rid of 1 meganob each squad. And I would do whatever you can to add lootas!

Humm,. well i can see you guys arnt a big fan of Stormboyz,
I dont see why not, first off. if i did use em. I would use things to block line of sight, i mean you got to play Orks ballzy, but dont toss your troops out infront of a line of guns for Gorks sake! (6+ save aint all that, even Guard Pea shooters can pluck em' off.)

They are Fast, get bonus moves when they land (one of your boys may explode)

Rule of Thumb with Orks, use Terrain/Obstacles to block line of sight, till you get close enough to PULP em GOOD!

I'm only guessing your quite relatively new to 40k, please don't be offended, and ignore above, if your not

No Worrys, DacGerm.

I cant give you my total Stratigy, (one of you lot is comming to battle me after all) But if you look at what im using, and think about it, you may see a Nasty plan

You can never think that your army is going to make it unmolested, you have to make sacrifices, you toss in some bait durring the game, (Sometimes expensive bait) to achive the goal. Tactics can be fun,...

Dtich kans for Battlewagons, nice rides for your Shootaboys.
Take KFF bigmeks (at least 1) to protect the wagons.

Does the mega-armor on the boss come with a PK?

Also, my concern is that your troops are slow and purposeful, even with the battlewagons

Yea mate, all Mega armor comes with PK, and Battle wagons are a must with Mega boyz, The front arm. of 14 iz a really good thing. (Keep the sides protected all the time) you rush the wagons, and run the metal monsters and Thump/Smash/ Crash/ Smash!!

Warbuggies cant fly over the Battlefield, and the Turbo Boost is fun, w/ 4+ cover save. and they can make out flanking moves...

nasty things they are,.. i got 9 3 painted, 6 glued and undercoated.

but i want more.
----------------------------------------------------------------
but as im finding myself getting off topic (again).
i was pondering last night. Take out the tank bustas, and toss in 3 5-man Mega Nobs, with Battle wagons.
and i forgot who said it,. but, add in Deff Rollas on all the battle wagons!!

as for my warbosses, im thinking of putting in Two 12 man(ork) squads with trukks, have the warbosses use em! (i dont want to put all my eggs into one basket.

With Orks I always start with what is going to be FUN for me to play.

Is this for a Tournament or just for fun?

Every Battlewagon I run has Deffrollas, Boarding Planks, Grot Riggers, Armorplates and 1 Big Shoota at the least. I usually add a Grabbin KLAW and maybe even a Wrecking Ball.

I'm not a big fan of Mega Nobz myself. I would rather equip out a normal Nob Squad and add a Pain Boy. That said, MegaNobz are fun.

Tank bustas can be fun. Always take all 3 Squig bombs. Vehicles don't get cover saves from them which is NICE and Orky.

If you want more scoring get a couple units of Gretchin, they are nice and cheap and leave them in reserve to run on some objectives later in the game.

Im getting 2, 12 ork shoota boys. and use the trukks for the
barbosses,.. but then again, i might get 11 Orks and use
em as a body guard for the Warlord,.... yes, Dat' sounds better.
Run the Trukks in cover, and Bang, crash, thump, rip, squish, and smash

i could also use the Battle wagons as mobile cover to help out me Trukks

Concerning earlier comments, I'd like to point out that I love Stormboyz.....they're just cost-inefficient. For 10 more points you get a solid battlewagon. More make it to assault, and then it gets to steamroll around.

Like Dugg, I was about to point out that in addition to the deffrollas, the wagons do well with: AP, GR, and a big shoota.

I'm sorry, but you're shooting yourself in the foot here. Orks aren't supposed to have elite armies; they are supposed to have horde armies that spam the same unit no matter what it is. Meganobz? sure, they have 2+ save and powerklaws, but no 5+ invulnerable like terminators do and they're just a unit that when maxed out and in a battlewagon or footslogging, its like saying "Hey! shoot your AP 2 large blast barrage weapons at us!". Stormboyz? fast and can take out a enemy's special unit right off the bat or can help later in the game, but get them in the open or under a flamer/barrage template for a second and they're toast. Warbosses? Sure they're always S10 with PK, but they're independent characters and can be singled out in combat. Think more like an Ork and less of a Squig and you'll be okay.

and what is buying the trukks for the warboss? they can't buy personal dedicated transports, we're not necrons >_<

also the stormboys are just a booy with a rokkit pack for twice the cost, yuo have the trukks already why not warboss plus 10 boys w/ nob bp and pk in each trukk thats 2 pks per trukk and since they are faxt that is move 18, open top so jump out 2.8 inches (base must be within 2 inches) charge 6 for a 26.8 inch charge window... note I reccoment losing mega armor on warbosses or waiting for turn 2 assaults.

the boys means you couls lose one warboss and let a kff ride in the battlewagon losing one meganob which would help you alot for survivability... adn for fast attack rokkit buggies are hard to beat, keep in within 6 inches of the bw for 4+ cover save on vehicle squadren which makes them really hard to kill

also with everythign in a vehicle kanz are kind of a waste they will just be firing from behind stuff as they will be slow.move 6 qand fire and once you are dug into assaults anythign free will be blowing up kanz as that is all they will have to shoot at
