Okay, I needed a Stompa, so I decided to make one with scraps around the house. Very Orky.

I started with a coffee can.....the newer style with metal rim and bottom, cardboard walls.



For feet, I cut the bottom oh....1 to 1 1/4 inches off the bottom of a couple AM/PM coffee cups. I hot-glued the bottoms of the cups to the bottom of the coffee can, wider end down. In retrospect, anyone following in my footsteps may wish to place the feet AFTER finishing the torso.



Next, I wanted that bell shaped torso, so I cut strips to allow me to shape and glue it.



Now, fold the strips in one at a time, hot glue used liberally for each fold.





With a small cardboard tube, I think it was from an industrial paper towel roll, thicker than standard, I cut a couple 1" sections and glued to be the arm sockets.



I had a couple construction vehicle excavator arms from the dollar store. I purchased them for the treads to make vehicles, and was going to use the hydraulics for some walkers, but that all hit the backburner for my Klawstompa's arms. With a hacksaw and utility knife, I cut some jagged claws out of the scoop, and whattya know? They wedge well into the cardboard tubes. No gluing necessary, and I can remove them for transport!

The lid to a Krylon can of primer serves as the head. A jagged circle for carving pumpkins and a lego catapult wheel serve as the eyes. My reinforced ram from a battlewagon(instantly replaced with a deffrolla) serves as a perfect "gob" for the stompa!



We need plates. Thin cardboard from cereal boxes, the textured paper "cupholders" that go around the coffee cups, and the metal seal I pulled off the new coffee can to open it serve this purpose. Cut into pieces and hot glued! A bit more cardboard for shoulder "pauldrons" and some glyphs, and voila!




One more shot for size comparison. The pic isn't at the best angle, the Stompa is slightly wider than the length of a battlewagon, sans deffrolla.


This was made for a game the next day, done in 2 hours. As time allows, guns, guns, and more guns will be added, and a paint job will follow. Enjoy, hope it helps you or at least you get a few laughs!

Its a great model guys he played it against me last week and it stomped my Chaos flat, the thing just kept on comming. Glad it turned left and shot up my allied marines by turn 3 lol. I needed my dice to roll well but they only dids for saves only. I will post a pic next time I see it.

I went to your Gallery and looked at the photos. The photos are rather small, so I couldn't see the details very well.

From what I could make out, you did a great job modifying the coffee container. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Okay, I know I coded them wrong. I copied the script given to me by Dakka when I uploaded them. If anyone can give me the correct script, I will joyfully edit the post.

You need to got to your gallery click on an single picture, and copy the 'Forum' code list under the picture to the right. The past that code directly into you message as it is, and the pictures will show up correctly.

Yes, the pics are small, I took them on my cell phone, as it is my only camera. Either way, hope it helps people out, and it's a quick and, IMO, decent way of getting stompas fielded when you don't have $100+ to drop for each one!

Thanks all! I am considering a "sliding" plate for the lower torso, so it can be changed out, like between different weapons, including a belly gun. It wouldn't be quite as neat, but it would be more functional. After playing it, the deff arsenal is well worth it and will be included in all my stompas when I field more. Unfortunately, the wife bought a full metal can which is almost empty now.

No belly gun....think what it may do to my poor Chaos warriors? : (

Making something like this too,out of an old freshmint container!(a really, really large one) for the weight ive added DAS clay(for modeling) at a total of 0.7 kg so that should provide some weight now i'll check on cheap toys for the frame of the arms just like you did
