I've recently converted from Blood Angels (too overpowered IMHO) to imperial guard. I built a 500 point list to tackle my friend who plays tau. He uses a mixture of kroot and fire warriors along with some railguns. Heres my list, could you give me criticism/advice/modifications? Cheers.

500 IG mech
HQ (70pts)
Company Command Squad
Lascannon, 2x Lasgun

Company Commander
Close Combat Weapon, Laspistol

Troops (330pts)
Veteran Squad 1 (165pts)
Chimera
Dozer Blade, Heavy Flamer, Multi-laser
Veteran Sergeant:
Close Combat Weapon, Laspistol

Veteran Squad 2 (165pts)
Chimera (65pts)
Dozer Blade, Heavy Flamer, Multi-laser
Veteran Sergeant:
Close Combat Weapon, Laspistol

Fast Attack (100pts)
Scout Sentinel Squadron (100pts)
Scout Sentinel Alpha
Lascannon
Scout Sentinel Bravo
Lascannon

My tactics were to keep the vets in the chimera and drive round melting things from the fire points. Keep the CCS back while the lascannon shoots things. The sentinals flank round and lascannon the Tau vehicles/HQ and broadsides.

Only Dwarves could get absolutely hammered in a tavern before a battle.

Hi. Your list looks good. I'd probably be tempted however to find points for 2 Melta Guns in each of the Vet squads, where you get the points for these though is completely up to you. Other than that I personally can't see much that I would change.

Cheers for your response, FYI there is actually 3 meltas in each squad it just dosen't say that in the HTML file that my army builder software generated. I think the only thing i may change is the chimeras dozer blades for camo cloaks OR another melta for a total of four melta guns per squad.

Ok, isn't the maximum number of special weapons in a vets squad 3 though, including the Heavy Flamer.

Yeah I just checked my codex and three is the max (annoyingly). The heavy flamer is attached to the chimera to burn away at any objective defenders who oppose me.
