So who plays it? I messed around with it today and had a blast and was hoping to maybe play a game with some people from dakka.

I made a thread about this a while ago and got 0 replies. It's an ok game but I'm really bad at it for some reason. There is a lot i don't like about though. The upgrade system is good but the fact that they don't last bummed me out. Every time I play I shouldn't have to start over.

I play. Hey, is there still another thread on this game, one that's more active?
I think it's pretty neat, and the rental system allows you to get decent gear (or at least the general weapon-type you want to use) early on, which is useful. Kinda wish we could choose to activate prizes later on, though, but eh.
Personally digging the Combat Rifle, though I've been using the LMG for a day or so now, and that's pretty cool- biggest issue is that I don't have (want to spend the GP to rent) any damage+ parts, so I'm always killed right when the enemy is on a sliver of health.

It's pretty fun. The gameplay is smooth and it's surprisingly bug-free. There's only a few exploits (mostly being able to get atop the map), but even tehn you're still easily able to kill anyone who does that because the roofs don't have any real cover. I prefer a highly customized assault rifle (very low recoil), and an almost unrecognizable bolt action (deals 200 damage a hit, which kills light armor in one hit and often kills standard as well, and easily kills any enemy in one hit to the head).

Love it.
However, their prices on things are pants on head idiotic. 20 dollars for a character skin and some guns and equipment meant for them? lolwat.
I've speant 10 dollars on it because I'll support it. It's great fun, and as Mel mentioned, sawed off bolt action rifles are a blast to use, just don't miss.

Its probably the only online military shooter that I genuinely enjoy, that I do not consider to be complete crap. Gotta love the customization ^^ Sadly, my internet has been acting bad recently, so its really laggy

A lot of things can be purchased permanently with in-game money, so it's not THAT insane. For excample, all of the equipment and customization on my assault rifle and bolt action are permanent--the recievers, the barrels, the muzzles, the scopes, the stocks, the tags, etc. All purchased with in-game money.

I played it for two days, but I thought no one on dakka played it when I asked around. I like it, but for people who can't pay for the in-game stuff with real money, it makes the game really difficult to play if you are a low level. I would like to play again if we can organise a day or whatever.

It actually doesn't . The basic assault rifle is really quite balanced. The assault rifle is balanced at all ranges, the SMG is powerful at short range but mediocre at medium and crap at long (you can still snipe with it, but it's not very good at it). THe burst rifle is powerful at medium range and good at long range, but suffers at close range, while the heavy assault rifle and LMG are both powerful but very slow to move around, allowing people to hit the ones who carry them easier. THey're also inaccurate except in short bursts. I rather like it myself.

Also, if you're finding that you're being killed too often, without being able to return the favor, try picking up a gun from a downed player. That's a big balancer- also, follow others around and give covering fire- makes it easer to survive and help.

Also, don't EVER doubt the power of the revolver receiver for the pistol.

I unlocked the revolver for 3 days today, I love it! I hate that I'll probably never be able to buy it with GP though. I'm saving up for some parts for my primary weapon at the moment. Any suggestions for a decent load-out on a combat rifle? I am just using the level up rewards atm.

The first extended range barrel is pretty good for its very small amount of downsides-- it reduces spread, reduces recoil, and increases range, but reduces movement speed, IIRC. That's pretty useful for a combat rifle. For a muzzle, well, it depends on what you want. There is a muzzle that is an outright upgrade though I think, even if it's a small one. For scopes, again it depends on what you want. An open scope or holographic scope would be useful for closer ranged battles, but a zoomed in scope would make it better for sniping. The first heavy stock is probably good for a combat rifle as well, but one of the standard (IE not light) stocks might also work. IF you want more close-combat oriented play, you'll want a quick scope-in time, for example. And for the tags... well, it depends on what you have. My bolt action uses the sonic knife tag which increases damage (Allowing me to max out at 200), while my assault rifle uses the poker chip, which reduces recoil. Both of themj can be useful, but since you unlock a random tag each time you level up, it's hard to say which one you should use.

Interesting...I've got the knife too but it only bumps the damage up by one point. Or at least it does with the other weapons. Is the improvement really that much on the BAR? I use the APC truck right now, increases clip size. by like 3 or so

The improvement is more noticeable with rapid fire weapons, for obvious reasons. I only had it on my sniper rifle to bump it up from 199 to 200. 200 is the amount of HP the standard armor has.

Also, just that little pip of damage can be the difference between blowing the other guy away, and being popped off by a lucky dome shot with them on only a sliver of health. Can't tell you how many times that's happened with me.
Also, can anyone tell me what the 'Standard Tactical Knight" things are? I know they're weapon names, but what determines them? Are they only for pre-mades?

The first word refers to the weapon's ammunition. Standard = basic magazine. Light = faster run speed Quick = fast reload speed Express = no penalties, smaller bonus to reload and run Extended = increased ammo, slower run Then there's other things, such as the speceial ammo-- toxic, explosive, incendiary, etc. The second word refers to the muzzle as far as I can tell. Loud and similar adjectives, for example, are representative of muzzles that increase damage and noise, while quiet and similar adjectives are for suppressors. Tactical is the standard, no stats muzzle brake. The last word is... I dunno. I've seen Knight, Stallion, Paladin, Jackal, Prototype, and so on. It seems to be based off of the weapons' stats rather than a specific piece of equipment. Prototype for example came from me giving my BAR a high level extended range barrel, while Jackal was waht I had when I was using an SMG. Knight seems to be standard for a basic AR. So basically it tells you the following: the weapon's ammo type, the weapon's noise generation, and a general idea on the weapon's stats.
