Hey dakka, I'm considering getting back into 40k, so I've gone ahead and made a couple lists up for the armies I'm considering which are:
-My own home-brew chapter using Space Wolves codex
-Death guard themed Chaos Space Marines,
- Red corsairs (no list yet)

Going for semi fluffy, semi competative

So yeah, opinions, comments, concerns, death threats away!

Death Guard is great. I'd go for it. After all, CSM get a new codex soon.

I agree, definitely death guard. They're not as common in my experience as space wolves are and the new chaos legions codex which is rumored for release later this year should be good (hopefully).

CHAOS!!!! But seriously go Death Guard, all that toughness 5 goodness with make any opponent have trouble fighting you. Also playing a Nurgle army is very forgiving, you can make a ton of mistakes and your plague infest lepers will live to see the end of the battle

Wow, didnt think everyone would choose Death Guard. Also thinking Red Corsairs as i mentioned, but as more of a mixed mercenaries group (i.e 1 squad of plaguies, 1 of berserker etc, plus all the usual good bits) . What do you think of that? or still the Death Guard

Red corsairs will give you the option to play around more with your army, you'll also get the pleasure to defile aquilas etc. I guess it depends on how you prefer to model and paint.
