The name's Matt, I'm 30 and from N.Ireland; I currently Live in Manchester England

Hobbies / Interests

• I love music and am a guitarist in a melodic metal band called Skin the Pig. Favourite bands are Darkest Hour, Mogwai, Deftones, Lamb of God, Slayer, DJ shadow.. i like a lot of music
• I'm the founder of a community called Geek Pride on Facebook and have started a website of the same name. (check it out ;oD )
• I love photography and prefer Nikon cameras and lenses.
• I collect Lord of the Rings figures and have nearly every single one that was released for the movies and can't wait to get started on the hobbit!
• I'm really into my Military History and did a degree in it
• I like Tattoos and have a full left sleeve, a chest piece and am working on my right sleeve now.
• I'm a massive gamer and hold regular Halo tournaments
• Love reading fiction and nonfiction.
• I love boardgames like Axis and Allies, Bloodbowl, The war of the Ring, Conquest of Nerath, Talisman, Zombies etc.
• I love model making and painting and have just started collecting a Marine Army

The 40k world
Haven't played 40k since I was about 13 and so am pretty much starting fresh again.. I figured, can't really have a website and facebook called Geek Pride if I'm not willing to embrace my full geekdom! Me and a few mates took the leap back into 40k gaming and have started collecting armies again. I collect spacewolves (though mine are called the Direwolves), have about 5000 pts + and still have loooooooads to paint. Just finished reading the 5th edition rules, only to find out 6th edition will be out soon!
oh... I still have a first edition Rogue Trader from back in the day from when I did play ;oD ouuwwwwwww
I don't know all the fluff and am a bit of a noob so be easy with me; I will no doubt make some sort of 40k fous pas from time to time but im a rather nice chap and really looking to get into the game again.. all help appreciated!

We're hosting a Narratvie 40k weekend in Mansfield in December. The link below will take you to thread where you can find out all about it and download the campaign pack in its current incarnation to see what the weekend will hold.

Hello and welcome to Dakka Dakka!

Will definately think about it.. only issue is, we have is that we have been so long out of "the Game" that we are pretty much noobs now. Were debating starting some beginners games in GW to get back on board.

If we dont feel too confident playing I'll no doubt come down anyway just to take some pictures and maybe do a feature for the website if thats ok?

Thats not a problem dude, just keep in touch or post on the thread and we can sort something out. By the time the campaign weekend comes about many of us will be in the throes of learning the new edition too so we'll all be noobs in a way!
