Kow gives a lot of lip service to the amount of play testing and feedback that has gone into it. Thousands of fan games, they report, have made the game what it is today. But their Forum (where Mantic has asked that users submit comments to improve the game) is rather quiet, and your application to join must be approved! Despite buying a lot of their product and downloading both editions of the rules, I've been rejected... Twice! Emails to the administrator go unanswered. And though they've been around for a few years now, their forums are rather unused (~60 posts in kow general discussion for example - dystopian wars gets dozens of new threads a month, if not week, by way of comparison).

Does anyone have any insight on how to give Mantic/ KoW feedback, or why their forum is so... challenging to join? My comments are coming from a good place (their game and models are really cool), but I'm puzzled as to why it's so hard to give them feedback.

Anyone have any insider knowledge of these guys?

If it makes you feel better, I wrote up a review of Project Pandora and submitted it, and they didnot post it.

I don't know, I've never had any problems with it, and I can't think of any reason why someone would be 'rejected' so perhaps it is a technical issue?

I couldn't comment for about a month on various blogs (every comment I entered came up as 'considered for moderation' but then just disappeared) but it finally righted itself. Might be worthwhile giving their office a call or email?

Hehe, naturally I thought it was personal! I'll try another email, but this is still kinda weird!

Thanks for the replies.

I get the feeling that they are not particularly au-fait with computers and technology, or else one of them (remembering there are only 5-6 guys) perhaps might do computers as a sideline.

Don't blame malice when you can blame computer-related incompetence I say!
