Hey guys, I've recently started playing Bushido (well, I've had a demo game and bought some minis).

For those who aren't familiar:
http://www.bushido-thegame.com/

I discovered the game just about the same time I got into reading about Japanese mythology, had a demo game at the FLGS (Temple of Ro-Kan) last week and bought the Savage Wave starter box. Haven't managed to squeeze in any painting, (did undercoat Zuba last night though), but can't wait to get to grips with the minis.

Anyway, I was just wondering if any fellow Dakkanauts played the game? and would like to see how you've painted your forces/your thoughts on the game/opinions on the mechanics/etc. Basically a general discussion thread on the game!

Some friends and I started playing this after trying out a demo at Salute this year. It is a really fun system and the minis are great, although I haven't painted any yet as I'm still playing catchup with several Malifaux crews and a legion of everblight force still to paint. I will get my Protectorate of Ryu finished though!!
I really enjoy the mechanics of the game and the scenarios in the rules manual are a lot of fun...

Bushido is a great game, I am working through my Cult of Yuri. The models are fantastic, but what I like is the Wave system for the new releases. Eveyone gets something, and it is never going to break the bank! (I have also heard of a possibility of an updated rule book soon!)

I I too have heard rumors of a new rulebook, apparently they want to get the rules to a really good quality before they make an actual purchasable book though.

On a side note, I've almost finished painting Zuba and got a game in last week vs Prefecture, got thoroughly trounced as I forgot about turning the idols and went for the kill, ending up with Zuba being decapitated on turn 3...

I had a look at the site after I got a leaflet with some purchase I made on Wayland, thought it looked good, haven't read through the rules yet.
I will be interested to hear what people think of he system.

Its a damn fine ruleset to be honest, gameplay is slick and you can easily get 2-3 (maybe more) games into an evening.

there are a couple of what I would say are ' minor teething troubles' at the moment (seeing as it's the first run of the ruleset) but overall the ruleset is sturdy, reliable and pretty well balanced, and considering you don't have to buy a book to get the rules I don't see that as a major downer on the game.

There's a little bit of micro-management, mainly centred around the different triggers and traits but they don't impact that heavily on the game.

Overall I think it's a great little game, especially as a starter box for 1 faction, plus rules (printed out and included in starter), a couple of dice and the stat cards you need cost les than the 6th ed rulebook it's quite easy to get into.
