Hi there, I'm DoctorAllosaurus and I have no idea how to really get started with this hobby...

The most I can do is assemble a model and that's where I become afraid to do anything else to it. The thought of getting rid of mold lines scares me, not sure what kind of primer and paints I should use (too many options), and then there's the actual painting part. I'm hoping joining this community will help me overcome those fears and eventually get me into the more advanced stuff you can do with models.

Hi, welcome to Dakka!

I have never bothered removing mould lines in 9 years in the hobby, you don't really need to worry about doing so when first getting into it. I'd say just pick up some models that you like the look of, and take it from there.

Thanks. Glad to hear the mold line thing isn't too big of a deal, just gotta get around to the painting. My first project will be to paint up my copy of space hulk, bunch of samey terminators and genestealers to practice on I guess.
