So this is my first attempt at one of these sort of things, but hey, gotta start somewhere. I'm going to try to keep it under-tuned in the first go, so I hope I accomplish that.

It is rare for even a few Mandrakes to join an Archon's cause, but if an Archon can whip large packs of Mandrakes into a frenzy, they posses a weapon that can sow icy terror from the very shadows and cover that their enemies rely for protection.

Cost: 150 points + models

Formation:

1 Kheradruakh
3-5 squads of 10 Mandrakes with attached Nightfiend

Special Rules:

Explosion of Shadow: The formation must remain in Strategic Reserve. When the unit becomes available, you may deploy Kheradruakh as per his normal rules (place anywhere), once Kheradurakh is placed, all Mandrake squads may deploy in a similar fashion within 12" of Kheradruakh. Mandrake squads may move and shoot as normal, but may not assault on the turn they arrive.

Ravening Hunger: All Mandrake squads in this formation begin the game with a Pain Token.

Icy Grasp: The icy chill that ripples through the battlefield when such a quantity of Mandrakes burst through to reality sends a blast of deathly cold through the enemy, locking weapons and seizing up motors at a critical moment. From the point where Kheradruakh enters, roll 2d6 plus an additional d6 for every Mandrake squad in the formation. All enemy units within that many inches of Kheradruakh may only fire Snap Shots as their weapons suddenly ice over and jam.

First attempt. Thoughts?

In your nightmares...

Oh, that is very good. I like it a lot. It clears up a lot of the Mandrake's problems. I like it how they can pop in, Baleblast, and then the opponents have to snap fire. Problem is, Icy Grasp has limited range. For a 150 point formation, make the Mandrakes able to assault when they arrive (and Kheradruakh as well).

Such a shame nobody takes Mandrakes... gorgeous models, average rules...

2000 points. Win:23 Draw:3 Lost:3

Back after hiatus. I'll see you around!

I think them assaulting out of their strike might be a little too much, but maybe it should give Kheradruakh some kind of Vital Objective special rule to represent him hunting a particularly valuable head?
