Hi Gang,
I've been meaning to pick up Zombies!!! for awhile now, but my retailers of choice haven't had it in stock for a bit. I'm wondering about the endless number of supplement/sequel/expansion games in the series - are they standalone, or do they require the base game?

I think a couple are 'resets' and can be played standalone, but most expand the core set with new tiles, objectives, cards, and zombie types.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy. |

I know Zombies!!!4 is standalone, and it features zombie dogs. Also pretty epic to add to the original game.

I would recommend picking up the Zombies!!! base set and add expansions to taste. The base set comes with a horde of zombies, a decent number of map tiles, counters, and the figures to represent the players. Most expansions, otoh, only come with a few tiles/counters and a handful of whatever type zombie the expansion is centered around (clowns, kids, etc) or none at all. It looks like Zombies!!! 4 may be the exception, as it is the only one other than the base set that comes with 100 zombies (dogs in this case).
I think most of the expansions would work as standalone games, but you would need to pick up at least one Bag-O-Zombies to get the full effect.

I'd also recommend picking up a bag of 100 Zeds or Babes to go with the base set. Yes, it comes with 100 to start with, but I find those 100 to never be enough(maybe everyone I play with tends to be more dickish about the game because we never work together and always play the add zombies cards whenever we can).
I own 300 myself and I've yet to pick up any expansions.

Yeah, I've been wanting to pick up the base set, unfortunately there's not a lot of places around here that stock it at a decent price, and when I went to buy it a few weeks ago, their one copy of it had just sold... and they haven't restocked yet.
Thanks for the advice on #4 and getting a bag of zombies. I'll probably grab both when I get the base game.
