I wish flyers could land. I mean, they have landing gear. Even flyers that can't hover (like Storm Talons) have landing gear. A landed mode would be good, as a special maneuver, that turned any flying transport into an assault vehicle if it landed for the turn, at the expense of being an easy target. Plus, you can unmount your vehicle from the flying base and place it on the ground, allowing it to hide and not be so exposed. (obviously, this would be akin to skimmer mode, and no Evasive Maneuvers/Skyfire would be applicable).

Have you seen how long a runway you need for some aircraft?
Maybe ones with Hover mode I get your point, but it's a ridiculous notion that a Doom Scythe can just stop moving and land when it feels like it to hide between some ruins.

Well, ones with a hover rule, vtol vehicles. I agree on the purely Flyer units, yeah they can't land without crashing. Like, the ones that make sense get the "Landing" maneuver.

I'm not sure you'd have any reason to land a flyer in a regular game. You could always write a scenario special rule for the purpose, I suppose...

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Perhaps you could have a scenario where your pilots have to get to the runway and then your gunships take off to contribute to the battle (or indeed the next one).
