Orks have very few reliable anti-tank weapons. Powerklaw come to mind. Everything else requires a certain amount of luck, usually ranging from high to huge. And while i prefer the new wound allocation system to the old one, it is now a bit harder to keep the nob alive long enough to throw a punch. So i snatched something from Dawn of war 2. The Beamy Deffgun. Strength: 9 AP: 1 Range: 48 Type: Heavy 1 Special Rules: Gets hot! These can be bought to meks in a loota squad at maybe 15p each. Only one can be purchased per every five lootas/meks in that squad. Watcha thinkin'?

Not gold. Not plastic. Soon, Games Workshop miniatures will be forged entirely from narrative - a 5-man box costing £70, containing the highest-quality imaginary soldiers in the world. Why have miniatures? Why paint, assemble or convert when you can simply imagine your army? - Frozen Ocean |

hmmm, I'd make it AP1. 25 points for a Gets Hot weapon should do major damage when it hits.

+1, and 25pts for a BS2 Lascannon is already quite expensive
You may want to give them S D3+7 and AP D3 (much cheaper then of course) for an "Orky feel"
Buut it might be a hassle to roll every turn of shooting ...

While the ''Ork Factor'' is always fun, we already have lots of those in the codex. I feel like it needs one reliable anti-tank weapon besides the power klaw.
Somehow, i forgot to take our beloved BS 2 into account when i came up with this. How about: 20p and AP1? Or is that too much?

Way too much. A marine with a Lascannon is about 40 points. I'd make it a 10 point upgrade, max. You're giving up an Autocannon, and those are 10 points cheaper than a Lascannon in the CSM book.

When i asked if it was too much, i actually meant ''is it OP now?'' But if you think it costs too much, well then i wont argue EDIT: I made this to be an upgrade to meks, which means that you actually give up a KMB. That means, double the range, +1 strength & AP and Heavy 1. How about 15 points each?

That sounds about right.
15 points for a Str9 AP1, heavy one weapon with Gets Hot on a BS2 platform
