So i am just about to start playing Trollbloods and am trying to think of a good list. Already have my Warlock but i am open to buying another one as well. I plan to start around 35 points and want it to be generaly good for playing against beasts and jacks. So, anyway, this is what i have in my mind right now.

pMadrak: For the defense boost spell, assassination deny scroll, and just him being a possible powerhouse.

Pyre Troll: For the fire dmg effect mainly.

Slag Troll: For Jack and heavy arm infantry killing.

Dire Troll Mauler: For the animus plus double handed throw. Oh, and the rediculous dmg output it can have.

Full Long Rider unit: I really like these guys from my playtest with them. Just awesome. The only part of the list i wont be talked out of.

Horthol, Long rider hero: Just makes the long riders even better. Also he is as powerful as some warlocks.

10 Troll Whelps: for fury management/healing/annoyance. I plan on Forcing my beasts a lot so Madraks 5 FURY is going to be leeched quick.

anyway, let me know what you think. And please: Be gentle.

I have to agree that the long riders are great. I just played against them last weekend than they tore apart a min unit of Iron Fangs and a neary fully powered WGDS in combat. However, once their ride by attacks are stopped they are mired in combat for awhile with their one attack. Plus is someone has a jack on defense that player can halt that unit dead in it's tracks.

My Conquest finished off 3/4 of the unit with two sweep attacks in one turn. They are not a glass hammer, but can be stopped and killed quickly if the right tool is used.

I hear you, and thanks for the advice. Part of the reason i want to pair them with pMadrak is I can boost their DEF to 14,plus make them immune to knockdown. With tough it makes them a little less squishy. Also with their order, The mount should be able to attack as well every single turn. The only downfall to my plan is i need to have them all within 3" of one for the +2 defense and knockdown immunity.

They do spead out pretty easly I have seen but they were being knocked down alot. Their UA Dragoon even chased my caster for a turn till the conquest said no. Him and his mount turned into meaty goo with one focus spent on an additional attack. Playing against an infantry strong army like Cryx they should have a ball.

Sweep is a power attack so you can only do it once in a single arc.

I plan on using them mainly for Infantry anyway. I hope the rest can combat more powerful stuff in there.

I made an attack in each arc. Spent the focus. When we read the rule it sounded to use that each arm can make a swep attack within that arm's arc.

Sorry, you can only do one power attack per turn, regardless of how much focus you have.

This is still wrong. A power attack replace all the initials. Nowhere does it say you can make multiple power attacks a turn. You can buy additionals after a sweep, but there's still only one sweep.

Well, I stand corrected. The wonderful thing about this game is that no matter how much you play you learn something new. Thanks for the info, i will pass it on to the others in the group. We were using the reference material in War Room at the time of the game because one of our players walked outside and around the corner with my rulebook when he went for a smoke break. I have found that while war room is good the reference section haa somethings left to be desired. Lesson learned, always have the hardcopy before making a rules judgement.

I think you'd be ahead to take an Axer over the slag for the animus. The Axer also has reach and thresher.

I always thought eMadrak was better with longriders as his feat grants an extra attack vs everything in melee range with mo condition. This seemed to work well with the riders as they are one of our few units with reach. Just imagine the riders plowing through a line of infantry, slam a heavy and then hack apart everything around them

71 pts khador - 6 war casters
41 pts merc highborn - 3 warcasters

So, update: Tried out the list with two play tests this weekend. First against a Merc list and second was Retribution. Both games won without much loss at all.

I would agree. Having played the slag troll a lot, I usually find that it isn't good for putting solid damage on anything above bonechicken (cryx light) weight. I don't actually own an axer, but that's because the casters I play most already have speed buffs. Some form of speed buff is golden.

Other than that, I would say that 10 whelps might be overkill. You have an 11 fury battlegroup on a 5 fury lock, which is a bit high, but not requiring 10 whelps.

Long Riders and Horthol are golden.

If you enjoy pMadrak, then I would second the recommendation to try eMadrak next. He's crazy good.

You - Ha! You've activated my trap card! Allied army! Come forth to assist!
Friend - Sup
Wolf Heathen - An equal point match?! This is not acceptable! Tau friend! Form up on me!

And then some guy throws a manta at the table and promptly breaks it in half sending figures and terrain everywhere.
