Hi guys, im a little bit upset to say that i will not really be using chaos anymore because in my flgs everyone has started to do chaos and are not even making successful army lists that can win games. When i put either my nurgle or khorne army on the table people tend to say 'another chaos army' but i have collected chaos for 6 years now and have really enjoyed playing with them but now they have got a bad reputation and have made me embarrassed to be a chaos player. I have loved chaos from the moment my dad bought me my first khorne berserker box. is anyone else getting flooded by chaos in their local GW?
I have always loved chaos and this post makes me look like I hate them, but trust me I dont
is anybody else having this same problem near them?

i played with world eaters, won 32 games lost 4.

So your going to let others decide what army you want to run?

Also, you think your situation is bad, think about the GK players. Your situation dealing with flavor of the month is nothing compared to what they went through.

Don't let it bother you, there will always be a lot of people playing the newest codex. Lasts just about as long as it takes for the next new thing to arrive. And don't forget that csm is in the starterbox, they are cheaper to collect.. Be glad they don't play decent army lists, they'll switch back to another list soon of they keep losing

Don't let it bother you, just run what you used to run and tell the bandwagon-er's to piss off.

That's because they haven't even been out a month. They're shiny and new and everyone wants to try them out, give it a few weeks and once everyone's had a play with them it'll be fine again.

You will regret getting rid of them in 3 months. Do not do something stupid and rash. Keep them and continue to play them, enjoy playing them and your models, and don't care about what anyone says.

Oh man, it must've been so hard to be a Grey Knight player! You would win pretty much every game without thinking, jeez God forbid. Must've been so hard for them, we should start a support group.

At least Grey Knights could take their crappy army and go win games. Have you read the Dakka Battle Reports section? Chaos Space Marines have lost around 80% of the games that I've seen so far. That's sad. Chaos even lost their debut game in White Dwarf. That's just pathetic.

I don't blame the OP for not using his Chaos stuff as much. The only reason I'm not getting rid of mine is because a good amount of them are the original lead Slaves to Darkness marines which are worth a lot and because I like Chaos, but unfortunately the book is pretty much devoid of any real inspiration outside of the Chaos boon table.

I have won 7 of around 16 games with the new codex, some things have really improved but other things have lost a lot of potential.
The only army i have won with so far is typhus, 35 zombies, 10 plague marines, scorcerer and 2 oblits. Even this list has its floors.

Yeah, see this is almost the exact same list that you would see last edition except that now you have zombies, which I have to grant are pretty cool. But yawn, plague marines are still the best troop choice, and obliterators are still the best heavy support.

Perhaps I should revise my statement: This new book should be called Codex: Nurgle since anything that's even remotely worth taking is Nurgle. Khorne got watered down, Tzeentch got basically wrecked. Yeah I'm pretty unhappy on a whole.

I'm not gonna be "that guy" and go back to using a Space Marine codex for my counts-as Khornate marines but I'm not going to lie when I say that I'm pretty tempted. I used Space Wolves for my Khorne Legionnaires back in 5th edition (using squads of 8 men for everything, even Terminators!) and it was fun, fluffy, and effective. In this book, taking units of 8 men is not only cost inefficient but it just sucks. Yeah, no thanks Phil haha

Cute

You completely missed the point. It wasn't their combat effectiveness, it was the butchering of the fluff.

well i have to say, a squad of 10 khorne berzerkers with chain axes charge a squad of 10 necron warriors, the warriors are dead before they get to attack. I used warriors as an example because in my flgs it it either chaos or necrons now.

i played with world eaters, won 32 games lost 4.

I didn't miss the point because you didn't mention their fluff in your post. And while yes the fluff was abominable at least you could ignore that. You can't ignore that at least you could have a good army that you didn't have to math-hammer for it to be effective.

@ Dakkadakka Brad-
Yeah but how often are 10 Khorne Berzerkers going to hit the lines of Necron Warriors? Not too often, and that's a pretty dang expensive unit.

Haha yeah Tesla is pretty crazy. I mostly use the Imperial Guard so it doesn't bother me too much, but it can occasionally get out of hand!

I was never going to get rid of them (subject is a bit wrong) I just meant stopping them whilst the craze is happening.
