I've heard a couple of references to the megaforces that are being released this year, but have been having a hard time finding out where the information on them is, specifically, which armies are getting them (I've heard 'crons and Codex Marines), what the contents are, and when they are going to be up for order? I'm not sure if this is the right spot to ask this (my only other thought on where it could go is news/rumours, although I feel it would be out of place because I am asking about news and rumours instead of supplying them), but if anybody could either provide me with information on the megaforces, either in the form of a link, and image, or just spelling out that things haven't been confirmed yet, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, looks like a good way to give the SM's I've been rebuilding a good boost. Shame about the Necron one though.

Necrons would have been better off with a monolith and some destroyers instead of the catacomb and tomb blades

I don't think a monolith and some destroyers would be better than the catacomb and the tomb blades. The Catacomb is GW's way of getting a HQ choice into the list, and truth be told both the Catacomb and the Annihilation Barge are good. My big gripes are the inclusion of Tomb Blades, a Triarch Stalker, and only 5 Immortals. I would have rather have seen either 10 Immortals, or none at all, and either some wraiths or a scythe of some sort, maybe both. Maybe a better Necron Megaforce would have been

20 Warriors (The battleforce comes with 20 while the kit comes with 12)
1 Ark
1 Barge
5 Scarabs
1 Spider
1 Stalker
3 Wraiths
1 Scythe
It gives the cron player a lot to play around with, including two troops (10 warriors in the ark, 10 in the scythe), and HQ choice, an elite, 2 fast attack, and 1-2 heavy support choices. It also has a nice balance of models that everybody will find a use for. Yeah the stalker is still sub-optimal, but it is a toy that, while not the best choice, is good enough to play around with.

Anyways, any idea when these will retail and how much they will cost? The SM force would cost about $387 CND before taxes, so I'm curious as to what GW usually offers in the way of savings?

EDIT: Also, the necron Battleforce would cost 429.75 CND is purchased individually, or about 378.75 if you used the battleforce as a base for the warriors + Scarabs + Immortals + Ark (btw, the necron BF is a steal, you essentially get the Ark kit for 20 bucks if you buy two squads of warriors and a squad of immortals)

Do we have stated or expected prices for these yet?

Can't remember the names for most but there it is. Priced the same as the Megaforces.

I don't mind the tomb blades as would use them from time to time but the stalker is a big turn of for me. If it had a scythe instead of the stalker, I would defiantly buy it.

I guess they sell more flyers than stalkers so put it in to make people have it?

Could any fantasy players comment on the vampire one, it looks good but wondering if you can make a decent starter army out of it.

also after careful financial analysis the vampire counts is the best monetary value whereas the crons are the best point value.

Also the empire kit isn't that great a deal financially however you still save money.

it should be noted that there are several dual kits in the counts, empire and crons boxes. The marines only really have the choices between a redeemer/ crusader and a rhino/ razorback.

You said you got this information from the 2012 gift guide? Is there any legitimate way for your average consumer to get a copy of that guide right now, or has it not been formally released yet?
