Subject: Help with nobs

I was building an army list with room for seven nobs with waaagh banner, bosspole,5 big choppas, 2 powerclaws, 1 painboy(8 units total) w/orderly, and eavy armor, and a weapons upgrade for each nob. Should I get the twin linked shoota, shoota rocket combo, or shoota burna combi? Should I get a combination of them? They will probably be in charge of holding a dense flank, playing pinning with a 6 strong team of pulse carbine tau, or siezing and holding an agressively deployed Aegis line.
Thanks for any help in advance.

and 40k was like McDonalds - you could get it anywhere - it wouldn't necessarily satisfy, but it was probably better than nothing.

Don't bother with the combi weapons, just get more nobs, and ditch the big choppas.
The reason being is more attacks is better than less attacks, but 3 power claws is better than 2. You will have the points to pull it off.
The more nobs you have, the easier it is for them to reach their target. Normally just boss pole, banner, painboy (orderly if you have spare points) and 3 power claws on a unit with armor will do the job just fine. If hard pressed, add cybork, but only if you have the points.

I played with someone who had slugga+choppa nobs with a Bog Mek HQ with a combi-skorcha. you won't loose attacks, and the skorcha is always a guaranteed D3 hit for overwatch OR a nice way to thin the line before a charge.

Drop the armor and go with cyborks, a 4+ armor is often ignored so you just get your 5+ FNP anyways. With cybork you get 2 chances of a 5+ to save each wound. Plus you can't put armor on the pain boy.
Don't get the rokkits, odds are it would never hit or wound anything as it is.
2-3 burnas are ok, you can either save them til you get assaulted, or use it over an aegis wall to deny the cover.
you can give the rest TL shootas, but I'd save that decision til last if you have points left over. Because those points could be 4 more shoota boys.

Solid Nob advice, the only difference is I always add cybork.

Ill get rid of a crisis suit team(twin linked flamers) and replace it with 2 nobs, one with power claw and one with 'uge choppa
so, 5 flamer combis and 5 twin linked? or all or nothing? Maybe only 3 flamers and 6 twin linked shootas, you don't need that much to light up the enemy, and i'd expect to lose at least 3 nobs when attacking a platoon, so my long term firepower wouldn't be sacrificed? Cybork bodies instead of 'eavy armor.

Yea it's all about saving points for me, but if I only run one nob squad at 2k, they have cybork. At lower points values they can get by without it.
