That should give you an idea on what's what. I know apoc isn't a tournament, but the survival portion is spot on for any game really. Have fun good luck

The links are a good start. Getting your hands on the apoc books is another, because they have additional things like formation etc that make apoc more fun.

Above all else don't forget to have fun and be excited to watch stuff get blown up( yours and theirs) don't get serious lol.

If the game is using 6th edition rules, here is the Link for the errata on Apocalypse:

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

What do you need for an Apoc game?

Guns.

Big frikkin guns, with big frikkin bullets.

Bur seriously, the whoel poitn of apoc is that anything goes. You can take pretty much whatever models you want.

Bring your dice, codex, measuring devises, templates and models. I would also bring some snacks and something to drink. These games usually take a long time, so it's nice to stay hydrated and keep yourself from being hungry. Other than that, I'd recommend that you don't sweat the small stuff. These games are for fun, so if you lose tons of your force in an apocalyptic explain, try not to be too upset. It happens. I would recommend holding some of your force in reserve. It's entirely possible to have almost all of your units destroyed first turn by D weapons and humongous blast templates. Keeping things in reserves ensures that you'll still have something to play with even if something catastrophic happens to your models early on.

Alaitoc 9300 points
Chaos 15000 points
Speed Freeks 3850 points

Apocalypse rules and some Apocalypse-specific units/formations always help. The Masters of the Chapter is a particularly good one, since it gives you access to a Strength D giant blast Orbital Bombardment without requiring you to blow tons of money on a Superheavy; depending on the size of your army, there are other useful formations.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

You need a very big wallet for Apocalypse; or is this stating the obvious.

(Sorry I know its not helpful but I couldn't resist)

There used to be a shed load of free apoc PDFs on the GW website.

Can't seem to find them now though.

But they were free so if you do a google search you might find someone else hosting them.

The pdf's are still there on the server, but there is no way to navigate to them. You need to know the URL's.
