I need to paint 27 Space Wolves by March, but I really don't enjoy painting. On the other hand, the guys the club are pressuring me to paint them up, and the first heat of Schools' League is in March. What's everyone's motivation to paint, so that I can see if they work on me?

Setting something down on the board and being able to say "I made that."
The real driving force for me, though, is improvement. Every time I paint a model with my mediocre skill I think "I can do better" and try to figure out how. It becomes a game in its own right.
I can set my first horribad attempts next to my latest less horribad attempts and see a wealth of improvement, and it makes me happy.

27 space wolves isn't all that much. Try talking to an ork hoard of 100+ or guard players. Like the above poster said, motivation comes from the simple fact of you creating something. You will notice from model 1 to model 27 a huge difference. Space wolves are fairly easy to paint and many tutorials on dakka or the web can help find speedy ways to get those guys to table top standard quickly. You could likely have those guys done in a weeks time I feel.
Or, if you really don't want to paint I bet you could commission someone to do it for you. You could have all those painted amazingly for roughly 80$ or less.

Take care not to get burnt out. Don't try to paint all of them at once. Take 2 weeks to paint a squad of 5 guys, paint an hour a night while you watch your favorite show on netflix, or listen to your favortie inspiring music on Netflix.
Netflix has been my saviour. I have painted my way through every single season of Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. I've also caught up on Walking Dead, and How I Met your Mother.
Find a painting method that works for you. Make a paint plan so you aren't just slapping paint on the model hoping it comes out ok. If you are unsure of how to paint your models just ask on here, there are plenty of people willing to help figure out a paint plan that will work for you.
A big motivation for me is seeing my painting improve, as well as being able to put an army down on the table, fully painted, and saying: Yes, I did paint all of those!

Thankyou very much! The TV/music idea could work. I read on the GW website that people use audio books about their army to get in the mod (probably advertising, but still good)

That's less motivation to paint, and more making unpleasant painting bearable, but hey, whatever works!

I used to only listen to music while I painted, but recently during a stretch of really tedious base painting I've started watching Netflix and it's made it a TON more bearable.
I just put on a show (Walking Dead season 2 right now) and the time flies by as I churn out base after base.
I probably wouldn't do it on a character model or something I want to take my time on, but to churn out rank and file troops or base painting it's a godsend

make sure to get together a simple paint plan that will yield a pleasant result. That plan will help make sure you don't miss any steps, and it also helps me on time management.

I find that fast paced music helps me paint, I like listening to DnB, Dubstep and Electro mostly, I started listening to music last month and along with the painting and modeling vows every month, it keeps me on track to complete my goals.
