I had a very first play of bolt action game yesterday, and have a great fun with it.

The game itself gave me a feeling like playing RTS like Company of Heroes, due to small size of the game and very fast game progress.

I played American forces, and my friend plays german.

The mission of the game was No.6 Demolition, which objective is to destroy opponent's base that are within their own deployment zone.

Let's begin the battle.

German deployment.

German base is sandback block, which is originally 40K terrain.

A sniper is hidden in the woods, and infantryman is on advance position.

A marder panzerjager is deployed in position where can shoot almost everywhere of battlefield.

8cm mortar is set-up near the AT gun carriage.

234 recon armored car and a veteran infantry squad armed with STG44, panzershreck team and an officer are in reserve.

Otherwise, American deployed other side of field.

I used Flames of War dice cover as American base.

50.Cal HMG team is set-up hidden in woods, and a veteran rifleman squad is on advance position.

Another veteran riflemen occupy a building in deployment zone, and sniper is near that building.

M4 Sherman tank reserved for outflanking maneuver, 60mm mortar, bazooka AT team and officer team are on reserve.

First turn begins.

American sniper advance on firing position, and shoot German LMG team of infantry squad, but failed to hit.

German troops are advance on ruined hamlet, and sniper begin firing on 50.Cal HMG team and score 1 kill.

Riflemans run foward for hard cover.

Riflemen occupied the building advances through street, but ambushing marder fired HE(D3) against them.

Riflemen had keep advance(did not down) and suffered 2 casualties.

Another German armor arrived from reserve.

An armored car advanced through road, and fired on riflemans near marder.

The riflemen opted to Down.

Then, a bazooka team and a officer team arrived for hitting back german armors.

The marder crew dicided riflemen near them is immediate threat and open fired against them, but due to riflemen kept down behind hard cover, failed to damage American soldiers.

8cm mortar team attempts ranging in closing bazooka team, but first shell has hit the mark.

The bazooka team has annihilated by one mortar fire.

American forces stuck on heavy resistance of german defences.

At last, Sherman has arrived!

On turn 5, sherman tank managed to arrive from left side(on American view) of table.

He fired on marder in point blank range, and scores massive damage on marder.

But on rolling damage table, I had roll two 2.

Marder has just immobilised by 75mm gun.

German armored car advance through road, threatening American sniper team.

The riflemen (suffered casualties by marder) outflanking german defence line to demolish the German base has killed by German veteran STG44 infantry squad arrived from reserve.

By deciding it is not time for sitting back, 60mm mortar team and 50.Cal HMG team advances.

German armored car is within 12 inches from American base, so Sherman shoots against 234 armored car.

The armored car has Recce special rule, so escaped from the shot successfully.

The 50.Cal HMG team pursued recon car.

On the turn 6, thought it is time for fight to the finish, American soldiers tried to assault German infantry in hamlet.

Riflemen failed to charge(cannot run through hard cover), so only officer charged and died solely.

For further game extend, the roll of 4+ needed but when I rolled for gameplay extend it scored 3.

The game ends in draw, because no one succeeded to demolish opponent's base.

Thank you for seeing it.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Really enjoyed reading that, 감사합니다!

Looked like a really fun game and Bolt Action looks good too. Every game I have seen reported has been on awesome looking terrain also, so it looks like it is continuing the trend of other historical games.
