Exactly what it says on the tin fellows. I've had recent issues regarding my current camera and it's quality of photo which has lead me to wonder how others out there go about capturing their wonderful paint jobs.

What cameras do you use?
What settings on said cameras do you use?
How do you set up the miniatures?
How do you set up your lighting?
What sort of backgrounds do you prefer?
etc. etc.

All these things and more interest me as it is my first venture into the blogging of my own hobby adventure. So please share your thoughts on the process if you can find the time!

Photographing minis is problematic for lots of hobbyists. Luckily, for you, that means there are more than a few articles on the topic, both on hobby blogs and right here on Dakka. Aside from threads targeting specific issues, here are a few treatments of the subject from the Dakka Articles section:

The Dreadnote wrote:But the Emperor already has a shrine, in the form of your local Games Workshop. You honour him by sacrificing your money to the plastic effigies of his warriors. In time, your devotion will be rewarded with the gift of having even more effigies to worship.
