So, I'm going to start painting my CSM in the Emporer's Children scheme. I already bought all the pink bases, layers, and dry color. Though I'm curious as to what shade/glaze I should use. Normally I stick to the black wash, but is there a better one for the Emporer's Children? Any other tips and tricks to making then look good?

I like the crimson carroburg wash (sp?) for the pink stuff.

Purple can also work well.

i would go for an orange wash... might sound weird, but it will look really good and tie the pink to the black

I am doing a similar scheme (Lich purple/EC pink) same idea for the washes? I tried a black wash on a test and it turned out half decent -> though heavier (of wash) areas on the pink are noticable.

I've been using Vallejo game colour "hexed lichen" purple as a wash, with some pretty decent results, depends on the look youre going for if
purple, black or red will be better

Hmmmm purple does sound like it might work better. I'll have to test the red and purple washes.

I use a red wash (right now it's Bhaal Red) over Changeling Pink (I think it's Changeling, I can double-check later), then go straight for VGC Tentacle Pink. I think it looks pretty awesome.

Alternatively you can make washes very quickly and easily. You can also make a Oil Wash aka Filters. They are a little more expensive to start but they make probably around 100oz's of wash. Their are tons of tutorials for either of these. Look into it, i promise its worth the price. Either way good luck
