hello dakka,

I'm working a captain for my salamanders army and he's got a fairly large banner rack that I need to fill. I'm planning to make a banner out of card stock following this tutorial, but I'm having trouble deciding what the design on the banner should be. I spent some time googling as well as digging through the dakka galleries and found a few ideas. the most promising so far is this image:

I'd like to get some more ideas before I settle on a design, though. I'd be grateful for any links to or pics of salamanders banners you might have floating around

That symbol is the symbol of the Salamanders first company, the Firedrakes, in case you didn't know. To be extra boring, according to the old fluff, Sallies banners are mostly blank to the normally visible spectrum.

With that being said, if you want to stand out, I would avoid looking for 40k art. Find other dragony, lizardy, firey, blacksmithy art. That way, your little dude will stand out and claim your own heraldry. With little effort you can add Chapter symbols, company markings and other 40kness to it.

Also, as an aside, the spell checker doesn't like Firedrakes but 40kness is perfectly fine.

I'm less concerned with fluff and more interested in coming up with something that's eye catching and looks cool. good to know about the first company bit, though.
