Hello All,

I'm working on an Desert based Death korps army and I have been having trouble getting
fitting bases. I've always wanted to emulate the basing from the Tallarn models in the Imp Codex.

It's the ones on the far left and far right.

I've been trying several ways to get my bases like that, but nothing seems to get
a similar look. Does anyone have some good idea's to how they might have done that?

Thanks!

The ones on the ends might have been some material that had waves set in it while drying, then painted over with layers of sand colored paint and later stain/wash.

Not sure what material would work best. Maybe green stuff.

I was really hoping it wouldnt be greenstuffed. I don't look forward to doing that to
40+ bases. I also tried pva glue mixed with paint, but that mostly dried with cracks
and it was nearly level when dry.

If you find some texture paint aside from gw's stuff that might work.

I used wood filler that I picked up at homedepot in a small tub. On one of the pages it shows a picture of the product.

Link to my Ig blog, it shows how I did my desert. Very simple method for basing and very easy to do. It turned out really great, so all you have to do is change up the color pattern for a lighter or darker base.

I used graveyard earth, brown ink, dry brushed graveyard earth over it, dry brushed a bit of white/graveyard earth for the final step. Though on the final step I did a lot at once like 10 plus real quick.

Hope this helps you.

Pumice gel. A mix of fine & coarse works well for this & it's shapable.

Thanks everyone, it looks like I'll go buy the Vallejo texture pastes, that looks exactly like what I need!
