To start off im not very good with converting and painting things so the easiest way would be awesome
I am receiving a dark vengeance set very soon to add to my current WIP chaos army,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the easiest way to make the DA models fit into a Chaos army and also converting the terminator and chosen weapons as their loadouts arnt really ideal :p
Any advice muchly appriciated

Green stuff and files.

With a little work you can turn everything into Chaos. I've filed down all the Dark Angel emblems on the terminators and tactical marines. Use some chaos bits on the Characters in the box to make them into sorcerers or Chaos Lords.

looks like the best option,
Is there anyway to do it without greenstuff, will it look alright without it cause im not that confident in using it.

nothing like practice for improving confidence just mash it on there and give it a whirl. green stuff isn't that tough to remove if you don't like how it turns out.

some of the emblems might be a bit tough to file off, but you could always opt for defacing them instead (e.g., carving an X through the chapter symbols, etc.). probably easier then removing them completely and there are various bits of fluff supporting that look (marines that have just fallen to chaos and so on)

i thought of that because i have decided to paint them as red corsairs and i think putting a red X through them is a thing they do??
I'll try some greenstuff eventually seems like alot of potential can come from it
Thanks for the reply btw

The easiest I ever saw was in an old Chaos codex, someone used Imperial marines with big red Xes through any Imperial icons. It was dead simple but lazy.

A less lazy option would be paint them up as DAs, then cover them with mud, muck, blood and add some cheap chains from dollar store jewelry. Make them look like prisoners/hostages/converts the Chaos guys are slowly brainwashing and breaking.

Good luck!

I've decided to go with scratching/carving an X through them and painting X red as ive gone with red crosairs and this method ties in with their fluff,
Its just looted armour
thxs for the advice
