I'm kinda losing interest the thing is when i use to play i had a few friends playing, but now only being 15 I don't know anyone really and i want to start a new army, the only thing stopping me is people to play the game with? my local hobby store is games workshop at Mt Gravatt. please leave suggestion of a new army to play im kinda in the middle of choosing eldar or tyranids.

Kind of confusing there. If you have to ask then it sounds like you simply aren't interested. Considering where you live, I have no idea about the gaming environment there. However, you already have an army, and your wanting to branch off into a new army. Pick whichever one you think has the coolest models (this matters a lot when painting), and just work on building it. If you have any friends who would like to play but don't have an army, well you have two so you can lend them one. Or take both armies to the hobby store and get someone else to play it with you.

It's not the factor my friends don't have armies, i moved schools and they kinda faded away i made new friends and well they don't even know what it is. I tried to get my friend to play it but.... well let's just say some people like some stuff others like other stuff.

First thing - are you losing interest because you lack opponents or simply because you are losing itnerest in the game?
If it's the former, stop by your FLGS first and see what the potential is for pick up games. If there's regular people playing who you can easily get games with, then just do that.
If it's the latter, then starting a new army rarely helps. Often you're just wasting money. Just pack your Marines away and go do something else for a while.

I've obviously confused a lot of you sorry. There are many people who play 40k at my local store. i just really want to know someone else who has an interest in game at the same time is roughly the same age. At my local store most people who play are in their late 20's or early 40's it's kinda weird to call a 40 year old guy your friend. nothing against 40 year old gamer's but it's kinda weird at my age.

We used to have a lot of kids in the 15-17 age bracket in my club.
One stopped, then about 6 more also did one by one - they only played because their mates played, and as their mates stopped, so did they.
We were left with two who played because they liked the game - that their mates also would play was a bonus. The lady that used to run the club was alarmed (I wasn't. You lose a lot of the early starters due to conflicting interests in the 17-23 or so age group. If they want to come back they will. If they don't, then it was only a phase for them and they weren't gamers as such).
It's now a few years later and some of those kids are now 18-19 and returning to the hobby.
You can always put it aside for a few years if you need to. DON'T SELL YOUR STUFF. If, after a few years (ie, 18+ years old, not a dad, and no commitments hanging over your head like a sword of Damocles ) you feel the itch to come back, then most of your army should still be playable (with tweaks). If not, THEN feel free to sell the stuff.

Ohhhh, well...you might have a spot of trouble finding someone near you and your age here. Not saying it's not possible, just kind of unlikely.
In any case, as for meeting people, best thing to do it play in tournaments, or just play up there every so often. If you're someone worth playing people will remember you and want to play you again. Just keep this up and go from there.

Some of my best gaming buddies are middle aged gamers, and some over twice my age.
Have an open mind, its really no big deal to play with people of a differing age group.
And if its still not working, just put the army away in a closet and come back in 6 months to a year. Don't sell. The game is constantly changing and live may move you to a more fitting gaming area for you. Its not like your army is going to spoil and you will save time and effort by not having to start over again.
And starting over from nothing will be a pain, not to mention expensive.

You shouldn't have too many problems getting in games, then. Unless it's changed recently, the gaming hall is usually open for people to just wander in, and there's usually someone hanging around looking for a game.
Check out wargamerau.com. Oz-based forum that has quite a few Brisbane gamers on board. And if you're in the Mt Gravatt area, maybe check out Irresistible Force down at Loganholme, as they also have a pretty good gaming space. They've largely been a little more focussed on Warmahordes and Warhammer Fantasy than 40K, but there's bound to be 40K gamers around the area and it's a handy place to link up.
There's also a gaming club called Blind Pig that meets over at (I think) Holland Park, although they might have an age restriction... You can find the club details on WargamerAU, though.

When I was in high school I stopped playing. No one to play against (bar one friend), and no time to play anyway. Packed away all my stuff and didn't think about it until I started Uni.
Just the way these things happen.

Don't worry too much about the age difference. I'm 21 and my most regular opponent is in his 40s. We don't really hang out outside of the game, but when we play we always have a good time. You can have your regular friends that you hang out with as well as separate "gaming buddies" to play war hammer, D&D or whatever you're into with.
As for losing interest in the game, I went through my highschool years without even glancing at my minis. I held on to them and eventually became inspired to play again after reading one of the horus heresy novels. I've been hooked ever since.
