So in the new White Dwarf James swallow said Garro and Loken and all of the Space Marines that have been gathered in the series are not Grey Knights. That blew my mind. I thought for sure they were going to be the founding of the Grey Knights. Hence the color of their armour and the stylized I as well. So if they are are not Grey Knights what are they. Thoughts?

Now that is an interesting turn of events. I thought for sure that they were the founders of the Inquisition.

Inquisition does not equal Grey Knights

I thought they were going to be the 8 legionaries that start the Grey Knights. Because at the current total I think there is 7. I was hopeful that Garro would become the first Chapter Master of the Grey knights. Since the Grey Knights get new names we would never know but I was always hopeful of Garro and Loken. My husband said that maybe they are to become the Sigillite personal guards for the years to come since they work for him now.

Really a stupid idea imo, they were building it up nicely. Garro definetly has something to do with the Inquisition's founding in any regard...

Grey Knights are all psykers. Garro and Loken arent Psykers. They might be precursors but they will never be "Grey Knights" in the truest sense of the word.

All the current Grey Knights are pyskers yes. Nothing anywhere said the founders were all pyskers.

I suppose the geneseed for the GK couldn't have come from them then, I remember reading some where that the GK geneseed came from survivors of the traitor legions who were resistant to the taint of Chaos... or something along those lines... and aren't the GK chapter 666? That means they are the 666th founded, so I guess they won't appear until long after Horus is dead, the Emprah is on his guilded toilet and the primarchs have all died/disappeared/become DPs... after all the legions don't break down into chapters untill a certain someone writes a certain book...

It's strongly hinted that the GK Geneseed is the product of the Emperor himself.

I'd say hopefully in development with the HH currently

Flight of Einstein was pretty much the last HH book I read, and that was years ago, but it just seemed to fit well.

Old fluff was Grey Knights were from the Emperor's geneseed, so they were taken. Hereticus I believe was created a few thousand years later as well, so they'd be dead by then...

Deathwatch (Deathgaurd lol) are formed up of marines from all chapters. Plus with the ability to have either disgraced marines who want their history redeemed, or loyal marines from disgraced/fallen chapters black shield style, it just seems to fit.

Sadly the only thing I can find doesn't really count as it's 40k Wikia http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Deathwatch "Chapter History".

Deathwath/Deathguard are to fight Xenos. Why would Select Loyal sons from the HH be the founders? I have read all of the HH books that are out in paper back so far. Even in those books they fight the brother in arms that turned to chaos.

Maybe the Emperor caught wind of the Cabal?

Maybe James Swallow is just trolling the 40k community, and they are going to be the founders of the Grey Knights in a few books?
