Just had a browse of the GW new release page as of 11/01/2013.

Obviously the DAs take up most of the page but at the bottom there are multi-unit purchase kits.
So for E.g a drop pod + tac unit is 60 euros (covert to currency as needs be).
But buying them seperately is also €60?

Taking the 3 dread pack as another example:
3x boxed Dread pack is €108. But 3 individual dreads are also €108 (€36x3)?

I've been far from a white knight regarding GW and even less of a hater (as regulars will know) but surely (to goodness!), the idea of a "special kit pack" is to give you the same units but at a slightly lower/better price?

How are these kit packs better value than buying each individually (or are they?) All I can see is that it literally saves you a few extra clicks on the GW website - uhm guys did I iss something here

On a semi related note, does anyone see how this comes to €340?

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=&prodId=prod1890015a

Look, GW will charge whatever it thinks it can get away with but as an "oldschooler" €40 for Samuel and €40 for 3 bikes?
Come on :(

I have no doubt this thread can be amalgamated to another but I'm genuinely open to ideas as to:

A. why not give a discount on the package deals overall?
B. how models like Samuel and a 3 man bike squad come to €40 each - they are great but?
C. why not do an overall DA package deal - with some sort of % off - even if its 10%
D. do GW figure that DA players have been waiting for so long it wont matter?

Uhm thats my semi-rant done!

- sorry for typos in thread.

No, it is not just you. The bundles are more for convenience than actually giving you any sort of discount. It's basically GW saying "Oh, you don't want to click three times? Here, click once!"

It's also GW saying feth you.

:(
Fair enough.

I know they do other bundle packs that do save a few quid here and there (even if they are not tournament/ultra friendly) so why not with the new DAs?

I dunno, they could make a killing with just s slight reduction here and there in kits, no?

A lot of the armies are like that too.

I doubt DA will get its own battle force soon since they are in the new starter box (which, one could argue, offers a bit of a discount though I haven't priced it out). On the topic of battle forces, those aren't a notable discount anyway and you may end up with models you don't want. I think Bob hit it on the head with respect to convenience.

Note: not a GW hater (gods know I send them enough money), just making observations

DA do have a battleforce, or at least a battle force for Ravenwing. It comes with 6 bikes, an attack bike, and a speeder. Its also one of the better battle forces out there (right up there with Tau and Necrons).
