Subject: Seeing a return to mech lists because of ... Dark Eldar!?

So the title says it all. Kind of. lol Like many other groups when 6th ed came out, the group at my LGS began to start migrating towards foot lists. You started seeing a lot more Rhino-less Space Marines, and fewer and fewer tanks (except for IG of course - those filthy bastards all just loaded up on Vendettas but I digress ... lol). I had done this myself with my Chaos army. Moving to a foot slogging/monster mash/heavy support type list that had mediocre success. A few weeks ago however, I just got tired of them. Chaos is kind of stale/boring for me (as well as the other two Chaos players at the store) in this edition and I decided to break out my Dark Eldar again despite the Nerfs we've received. The other two guys also have small DE armies and decided to follow suit.
In the weeks that I've been using them, they have actually started to shift my local meta. My army is a little unique in that it's a Archon/Haemy mix with very few witches and a lot of kabalites and it's based on large units in Raiders rather than the ubiquitous Venom spam. Since most of the 6thed missions are objective based, I'm finding that the foot sloggers have been at a little bit of a loss as to how to combat that. We (the DE players) have typically been able to seize every objective on the table and just whittle down and out maneuver the foot units while they desperately try to get to the objectives. Additionally, secondary items like line breaker and first blood have become much more simple to get as well. So lately people have been shifting back to transport/tank based armies that look more like 5thed armies in order to counter the speed. I'm just wondering if I have a weird local scene, or if anyone else has seen this?

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..." |

DE are particularly vunerable to mass mech, and very very good at anti infantry. So if a lot of people are playing DE you will see less infantry and more mech. You will also see less Teq and landraiders, which have been making a come back in 6th.

Tell me about it. lol My games against IG opponents, while fun, look more like "Tom and Jerry" episodes than actual games.

My meta never really changed.
2 Guard players, both of which kept there Car Park, (and both had Vendettas pre-6th, beleive it or not)
Tyranid player, same old wall of infantry, (now just 2 Flyrants.)
2 Chaos Players, both still run ~4x 10 Guys w/ 2 Plasma Guns, only now they have Daemon Engines.
Blood Angel Player, he's still doing wall of armour followed by Assault marines.
Eldar Player, still plays Imperial Guard style, castling a blob in the corner
And me, still running Silver Tide, (but now with Flyers.)
