I'm painting my Coven Throne: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat720003a&prodId=prod1460002a

I'm going for a dark green color scheme with my Vampire Counts army, and I'm having trouble deciding on specific colors for the vampires on the Coven Throne. There are 3 vampires, and each has a multi-part dress. I know I want dark greens highlighted into lighter greens contrasted with black, but I'd like the main vampire to have a different color dress than the other two. In this video, he does this, and the colors complement well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDZzMqVMahw

The problem is that I'm having trouble coming up with colors that complement green. I don't want any blue, I don't think, and I'm not a big fan of greens with heavy reds because of the Christmas-like scheme you end up with (though red highlights are ok).

Also, I've gone with an overall darker tone, both in the spirits and in the metals, with the Spirit Horde portion of the model. So, if I go TOO dark on the greens, I feel like there won't be enough color variation to stand out and make the model pop.

I know this is confusing, but... HELP!

Yeah I would worry about the grenn dresses not sticking out so much.

Purple maybe, same as in the video only richer and darker.

tbh I never finished the vampires on my coven throne, their dresses are done but I can't get the skintone/faces right.

I ended up attacking my last attempt with a toothbrush before it had totally dried and haven't had the nerve to try again since.

Yeah, I considered purple but I don't know if there will be any other purple anywhere else on the model at all. You think that might make it look weird? Or no?

Hmm, yellow might not be a bad idea. Though, I tend to make my jewelry pieces gold and I'm not sure how the yellow will work with that. I should post a pic or two of some of my other vampires so you can get an idea...

I actually really, really like the purple on Vlad's billowing cloak. What colors and washes did you use for that?
