On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Hey guys,

Just a quick comment on the gallery, and in particular the 'Hot or Not' voting system. Now I'll be the first to admit I'm not going to be troubling the Golden Daemon awards any time soon, but I've just been having a laugh at the absolute pounding pretty much all of my Infinity stuff is getting score wise. Is this the same for everyone?

I'm writing this in the context not only of my own stuff (with some pretty basic paint jobs on marine stuff of mine getting a much higher score) but the likes of out of focus ork heads at maximum close up, in one case an unpainted space-marine foot (seriously!) which seem to get scores of several levels higher. I of course understand something like my Daktari getting a low rating on the grounds of her being too damned sexy for her own good, therefore making people uncomfortable and obliged to give her a low mark

So is it just the gallery being in need of more Infinity stuff? Should I even be paying any attention to it?

My stuff never even gets a vote, let alone a comment. I don't think any of mine have even had enough votes to actually get any score.

Overall, I don't pay attention to it. I just use it as a way to store my images to put in blogs on verious sites.

The whole rating system is a bit stupid to me. Even if people did comment on them I wouldn't know it since I don't go and see them myself.

I can see too that we'd get low scores because there's not enough huge swords and skulls everywhere.

This is bull. You have a solid painting style.

That Kaplan would definitely benefit from a contrasting colour though. I know you were going for scrappy mercenary who's sensible about being hard to spot, and it does it good, but it needs a bit of visual relief.

Your painting is fine. Maybe there is an Infinity bias. I gave you some scores.

It is an issue that has come up before, as the scores are subjective the votes end up being WILDLY out of wack sometimes...

From experience: Gitsplitta has often had the same problem ( idk if any of you have seen the monster plog, but his stuff is excellent and yet he often gets consistently low scores for seemingly no reason). HE has before gotten better scores for WIP models than he does fo rthe actual finished model (the SAME model....)

I also wouldnt be surprised if there was a GW bias in there as well tbh, you like what you know and all that...

I wouldnt worry about it Pacific (or anyone else for that matter), i think your stuff is great (although i dont tend to vote these days) and so long as you are happy with it then its all good right?
