idk. To me, its gotta be more user friendly than anything. perhaps a free one at first? basically, i dont need anything fancy. just "cropping" videos and putting them together, adding txt to the video etc...

If you are not using windows, then kdenlive could work. I've used it to create the few video reports that I've done (example batrep).

Hi guys, I'm and absolute beginner in video editing. I have widows 8 and xp platforms. I am looking to edit my daughter's soccer games for on line sportworx and gotsoccer. I am looking for something user friendly that also does audio. I was given an advice from a friend of mine to purchase the Adobe Premiere Elements but it's a little expensive to me. Could you advice some other software with similar functionalities but at lower price. I have read a review for Pinnacle Studio 16 which seems good enough but on a quite lower price (about $60). What would you advice?

I picked up a used copy of Sony Vegas from ebay for less than $15 a year or two ago. It gets all the basics done and you can do a few bells and whistles with it too.

I use cyberlink powerdirector (its in the second post's reviews) and it works great for a good price, can definitly recommend it.

I think to try the Cyberlink PowerDirector as well, because I found some good reviews (http://www.videoeditingsoft.com/powerdirector-cyberlink/) and what's more important to me, is on a suitable price to me (about $49). I'll write you after testing... Thanks Starweaver
