I'm dusting off my Blood Angels for another go around in 6th edition. In 5th, one of my favourite things was using Blood Talon Furiosos to mow down entire squads of my brothers orks. Simple and effective.
With the changes to Psykers in 6th, I'm kinda interested. I'm wondering what powers you'd give a Librarian Dread, if they're still viable, and how you'd use one in an army... or if I'm better served sticking to my good old Lawnmower Dreadnought.
Any suggestions?

Well, Libby dreads can't switch out for powers, and can only cast one a turn... I would give it Shield and Unleash Rage. Keep it behind with Devies or a camping objective holder and cast Shield if you need to keep the guys alive or Unleash Rage if you wanna put the hurt on you opponent. Also, Libby dreads with Blood Lance in a drop pod is ok too, as you have the potential of killing a bunch of big transports/tanks.

Wait, where does it say they can't swap with the BRB powers?
Not sure what would be that useful to them compared to their Codex powers, but unless it's in the FAQ I'm not seeing it.

There's some debate on it. I think most people would allow the swap out since it seems RAI that is the case.
Regardless if you want advice for which powers to swap out for in the BRB, for the purposes of this thread we should assume that it can, and leave the argument for YMDC.

Agreed.
Having gone over the BRB abilities I don't know what would really be worth it.
I'm going about this from the standpoint that he needs powers to compliment himself, while Biomancy, Divination and Telepathy have great buffing and force multiplying powers, if you're taking them for this reason you're better off taking a normal librarian for way less points.
I'd say best combo for him is Wings of Sanguinius to get him into CC faster (and for 35 points less than taking a DP) and either the 5+ cover save (makes him really survivable if you get night fighting T1) or the power or the one that gives him +D3 attacks.
Of all the BRB powers Divination has the most potential, but other than the 4+ invul power the others are geared way more towards shooting, which is not his strong suit.

DEFINITELY take Wings. It's the main reason for taking the Librarian over the killier Furioso or DC dreads - the ability to get him in quicker. Otherwise, your Dread is not living up to its full potential in the time it takes to get into combat, as it's obviously not built for range.
This leaves you stuck with another BA power - personally I'd take Shield, as you get to cast it alongside Wings, but I can see Fear of the Darkness being useful if you're worried about tank-hunter units nearby.
