This tutorial will show you how to build a meltagun for your standard Cadian Meltagun Max, without needing to buy the Command Squad Box for one or a metal Meltagunner and Plasmagunner.

The requirements:

Knife or something else to remove parts with

Imperial Guard Cadian Flamer arms

Space Marine Meltagun

Plastic Glue

File

With this you can make 2 variations: one with the leather rim, like the flamer, and one without. With one flamer and one meltagun you can make one IG meltagun.
Here is a picture of the arms that you need, to clarify it a bit:

Remove the front end of the meltagun (the part with the grates). Make sure you only get the round bit. This is by far the easiest bit.
It'll look like this:


Remove the flamer's end, leaving the part were the arm holding the gun's end will be. Also remove the hose and, if you wish, the leather strap, making sure you also remove it from the shoulder pad. It will look like this if done correctly:

Now prepare to glue them together. You will have to glue them like this:

Now you have your meltagun, ready to be put onto your miniature! I've made this with my bitz, so no picture of one on a miniature (yet). This is how the end result will look like, either with or without the leather strap.

In there you can find how to do it with just a lasgun and flamer. We're still trying to figure out what to do with grenade launchers.

You can subsitute the greenstuff for the flamer pipe and lasgun barrel though as in http://ompldr.org/vZnJydQ/IMG_0430.JPG (bad image, I need a better camera).

Neat, but wouldn't it be a better idea instead of destroying important and useful meltaguns by using the multi melta sponson that comes with the LR tank kits and simply cutting them in half? That way you get two of them and you aren't destroying a perfectly good melta gun. Nice tutorial, just saying there may be a better idea.

That's a rather good idea! I just used my spare bits, and those don't include anything LR

For a poor man's version, you couold just square the tip of the flamer above...

Why not just cut the grenade launcher off the GL arm, attatch the melta gun and use the holder hand to make it look like the command squad melta gun? Seems it would look better.
